The Inside Man indeed is a good movie; have seen it many times. This is the one which has the chhaya chhaya song from Dil Se as the title song. The plot and the direction is done nicely.

re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

I would give Inside Man 3/5. Parts of the movie are good but overall it's just OK.

If you like Inside Man, you would probably like "Law Abiding Citizen" (Gerard Butler). Again this movie is partly good - the first half especially - the 2nd half becomes silly.

+1. As rightly said, both are partly good and was almost like the director lost interest in making the movie mid-way

LAC was downright incredulous during the last half !!!

@Silverwood - How was the Clooney starer ''Ides Of March''.
I was watching Philadelphia Last night on Pix. What a performance, by Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington, Antonio Banderas.

How was it? I read the review online somewhere and they said it was good. I think its directed by Clooney and is based on US politics and a Senator's ambition to become the president and deals with how folks lobby to get to the chair.

I will watch it only for Clooney. He is so drool worthy

OT: Guys, something is wrong with Bigflix. They stopped home deliveries and started something called Bigflix + which is primarily watching the content ONLINE instead of home deliveries. I posted on the Bigflix thread. Not sure if its a good idea or bad. Except for the 50 FREE DVD's its a bad idea

Happened to watch it today. Did get a li'l slow at times, but never felt like leaving it in the middle. Jolie performed very well, nothing exceptional though.

Overall, a good watch.

Anyone watched the Rum Diary. So badly wanted to watch it but they pulled it off the theaters so fast! Now, I am certain I would've loved that movie.

Watched Shutter Island for the nth time, without getting bored.
Each time i can't help comparing it to Manichitrathazhu, the malayalam classic, which also deals with treating a mentally ill patient through elaborate role-play.

Amazingly even the two doctor's spew out very similar dialogues - "iam going to break all conventional wisdom and rewrite rules of psychiatry .. ".

"Shutter Island" is ofcourse far more intense and disturbing.

+1 totally agree. Both movies were great which shows his script sense. You should also watch The Ides of March which has a stellar cast after years in a single movie, including Ryan. Also, do watch a 3-4 old movie in which Ryan acted really well, Lars & The Real Girl.

re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

The best film I've seen this year is Midnight in Paris, a retro romantic film by the great Woody Allen.

I liked it so much that its just beyond any rating. The storyline is quite simple, but also different from anything you'd have seen so far. A francophile comes to Paris to work on his novel, falls in love with the city (actually in love with 20's era) and during his nightouts meets the likes of Hemmingway, Picasso, Bunuel, Dali etc. Its an amazing film, more like a dream!

Highly recommended.
