For my commercial property for the year 2015-2016, I had paid 16k. Last year 2016-2017 I paid 31k (I paid before the cap i.e 25% for commercial and 20% cap for residential over the previous year), so when I check online they still have not corrected it and it shows that I still have to pay 22k or so.
It shows I paid a excess of 5k or so, when in fact I paid a excess of 11k.

Nothing will work online for BBMP, you will have to run around your local BBMP office if you want to sort this before this years cycle kicks in.

I too did the same mistake. Took challan print out and paid by cash at the nearest ICICI Bank. Got SMS confirmation from BBMP and downloaded receipt later.One can also pay at HDFC, Axis and Canara bank counters.

Challan is valid upto 30th May.

The lesson learnt, NOT click the challan payment if you have to do truly online payment.

Regarding the challan option that was chosen by me mistakenly, I waited for a few days and then logged in again and payed online.

The challan and receipt amounts on the portal match but the amount charged on the card is approximately 0.1% more. Did anyone notice this ?

*The OTP message also shows that the amount being requested for charge is the higher amount

I have paid the tax online and I have been charged the same amount as what was shown in the portal. I have not been charged any additional amount. Did it mention the 0.1% amount as any convenience charges for making the online payment?

I do not remember seeing anything like that mentioned on the payment page, I possibly missed noticing some fine print.

Ditto here. No additional charges for me. I paid through net banking.

This year onwards they have started adding a convenince fee for card payments. The BBMP portal will show the actual property tax amount. The payment gateway adds the amount and it is shown on the left side of the screen.

They should have displayed it in an explicit way and informed the users. Paying through credit card is slightly cheaper than debit card. Payment through net banking does not involve any extra fee.

No additional charges. The amount on the tax receipt and the amount charged on the card are same.

Paid on 4/apr - using HDFC Credit card.

I have a 1200sqft site for which I was paying property tax regularly. This year I constructed a house there.
What is the process for assessing the revised tax? I get different answers - BBMP helpline says I have to visit the nearest BBMP office with sale deed etc. But a friend in a similar situation just did a self-assessment by specifying the construction details on the BBMP tax portal. Apart from these there are agents who say they will get it done for a fee. I for sure don't want to go with agents.

What is the correct process?
