Apart from these there are agents who say they will get it done for a fee. I for sure don't want to go with agents.
While I don't know if this is the real process, you can consider doing this:

I'm assuming the khatha and property records with PID Number etc are in your name and there is nothing that needs correction in BBMP property records (you say you've been paying taxes for vacant site earlier so everything is possibly fine).

There is no real need for a broker.

Keep the details of your buildings constructed area, car porch size handy and then go the property payment page in the website. There is a question asked if there are any changes in the property and once you click yes you can enter the details and find out what the tax amount (new) will be. Then go ahead with the payment.

The other option is to go to the local BBMP ward office, fill out the physical form with the same details and make the payment. In this case you will need to do the computation based on the instructions on the form. The online option is much more easier and seamless.

Note:the forms are colour coded with white for no changes from previous year and blue if there are changes. The online version takes care of this with your answer to the question if something has changed.

Re: Property Tax discussion

I remember reading some where that if tax amount is less than 5k there would be no transaction charge.

Also can anyone let me know whether the 5% rebate has been extended?

Re: Property Tax discussion

Team, I was helping my uncle pay property tax for his shop that he has let out as a saloon in Dwarka, New Delhi.

1- Last year the tax was Rs 1800, but this year the challan generated shows a value payable of Rs 2800. Has there been an increase in the rates for commercial property compared to last year ?

2- Once a challan has been generated online, can we edit it ? If yes, how ?

Hello,
I have taken possession of my flat recently.
I have neither OC, not any PID number.

What should I do?
Is it true that property tax does not need to be paid for Flats without OC?

I'm not sure what needs to be done since you will need a PID or base application number (typically the application number from your first time property tax payment). Without these you may not be able to make online payments.

I think your best bet is to reach out to your local BBMP ward office to find what needs to be done.

Re: Property Tax discussion

Got a notice from the South Delhi Municipal Corporation saying that I've not paid property tax for FY19-20. But it was paid online in June and I have the receipts. Even the MCD website shows the tax as paid.

Any idea if it is important to respond to the notice or let it be?

Re: Property Tax discussion

Team, I need your help on this

My mother holds a property in Bangalore since 2007 and the property tax is regularly paid. The tax receipts are generated in her name. But she doesn't have Khata Certificate issued to her. What is the process to get the Khata transfered to her name?

If the tax receipts are in her name, the Khata has transferred to her name. Just go to the local BBMP office and get the copy of the Khata.

Does anyone know if Property Tax for property in Anekal can be paid online?
I am able to view the tax demand online on the Panchayat Portal but not seeing an option to pay tax online (Link)

Re: Property Tax discussion

Has anyone successfully paid BBMP property tax online this year in April ? I didn't even try since I read in the newspaper that the site is being fixed/upgraded and they expect it to be ready sometime in May.

I too paid last week and the process was smooth. There has been no modifications in my case since its an apartment. So all detals were pre-filled from last year and just paid the amount.

Thanks guys, good to know this.

I remember reading about several payment failures during the first week of April and BBMP said they're working on revamping the site.

Rebate has been extended till 31May, but I will make the payment soon.
