I don't think we will get this in India anytime soon. We are still waiting for normal Apple Pay.

The party is kind of over, via HDFC smartbuy the rewards are reduced to 5X and no update on direct partners yet.

Here is the information : https://www.cardexpert.in/hdfc-smart...l-2019-update/

Diners club killed the unlimited golf lessons on premiere card too, and that was the only reason i was holding/using that card. Mine is going in cold storage now.

Sigh. The ray of hope is that this is applicable for the month of April 2019 only. Hope they fix it when they update their offers.

Actually they did. It's back to what it used to be earlier but only till April 30th as of now , either the 5x was a prank or they wanted folks to spend more during year end.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Folks, my monthly fuel expenditure is touching close to 12k. I am having the Citibank IOCL credit card. I am not really finding it beneficial as I am restricted to only IOCL pumps and also rewards are more if swiped in citibank POS machine. I have shortlisted SCB Super Value Titanium card for fuel use. Is there any other alternative that I should be looking at?

I have 3 fuel cards,
i) Citi IOC - Returns of around 2.67% (excluding surcharge)
ii) SBI BPCL - Returns of around 3.25% (excluding surcharge)
iii) SC SVT - Returns of around 4% (excluding surcharge)

I hear the HDFC Bharat card also gives 5% but is limited to certain value per month of cashback. Same is the case with SC SVT (Max INR 200 cashback per month).
I find the most useless of the cards to be SBI BPCL as I have to fight with them to credit correct reward points, there is not much training given to BPCL pump attendants to redeem the points and offers for other shopping are minimal.
I hold Citi IOC as there are so many more benefits like BigBasket cashback, MMT cashback, Duty Free cashback.

I cannot comment on the ICICI HPCL Coral card as I have not analysed it.

I am using ICICI HPCL Coral credit card since ages.

1. Surcharge is waived off + 2.5% cashback is given at the month end automatically. Cashback is restricted to maximum for Rs. 4000 worth of fuel every month. Surcharge waiver is unlimited.
2. Normal govt cashback of 0.75% for cashless transactions is also extra.

Thanks for the insight.
I forgot about the 0.75% cashback as I don't fill fuel at PSU bunks anymore. As I fill on Shell, I don't receive that amount back.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Now that Jet Airways has stopped operations and chances of a revival are bleak, what are the best options to redeem HDFC Credit Card Reward Points?

Gift vouchers for retail stores seem to give good value for money.

I just redeemed vouchers for gold/jewellery from Tanishq and i thought that was a good conversion at about 1/3 of the points in Rs.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

My last month's Diners Club Black statement doesn't include reward points on Amazon/ FK purchases. The month before that had the points from the same month but the last one doesn't. Is this normal? The t&c did mention that they will take upto 90 days for crediting the points. Is there any way to cross check?

The reward point posting is quiet erratic with black. At times smartbuy & FK points get credited in 2-3 days, or it can take much longer. Like you mentioned, the stated timeline is 90 days.

You can cross check by calling the helpline and asking them for 10x credit on specific txns. For amazon txn they will only confirm post 60-90 days.

Any idea if Diners Club 10x rewards are extended beyond April 30th?
