My longest drive (Single drive with just food and pee stops) has been Mumbai Jaipur / Jaipur Mumbai. I have done this many times now in the last 3 years. A distance of 1170 km covered in 16 to 17 hours. I have driven with two little kids and wife on this route. Have done this solo. The latest was day before, when I drove from Jaipur to Mumbai solo in 17 hrs.

Otherwise the longest drive has been Mumbai to Leh and back. It was 6500 km, done in 13 days.

My longest drive is from Trivandrum to Mahe and then to Ooty via gudalur covering almost 680 kms. Took some break at mahe, but the running time together is almost 14 hours and the vehicle was Innova.

Bangalore to Pench in one day. ~ 1150 kms with some detours. Started at 4 am, finished around 8 pm. With 2.5 hours of stops - food etc.

Had reached Nagpur outskirts around 4:30 pm, but got stuck in city traffic.

1) Pune to Bangalore - 850Kms
13 hrs

2) NewYork City - Boston - NewYork City - 750Kms
16 hrs (numerous stops in Boston)

3) Chennai - Trichy / Chennai - Bangalore - 350Kms

That's very fast nilanjan. Nagpur is around 1120 Kms from Bangalore (Whitefield). If I include 2 hours of break till Nagpur this means you took 10 hours for 1100 Kms.

And road condition was very bad between Adilabad and Nagpur. There is no way one can drive more than 30 - 40 Kms/hour.

I was riding a Bison (pic below) with Blitz lights. High speed was possible given the excellent NH7 road quality, and given that I didn't have to worry much about hitting unseen potholes, bumps and bad roads in general. I could also take advantage of the pre-dawn, minimum traffic hours on the Bangalore - Hyd stretch - used the Lightforce lights and drove fast (with zero or little oncoming traffic on the divided highway).

I could do 60+ kmph in the bad Adilabad - Nagpur stretches. I traveled in early June, so perhaps potholes were less then - don't know.

I lost significant time hunting for an eating joint in Nirmal (entered the town) and while passing through Nagpur. Otherwise, we stopped only for food, diesel (once) and bio breaks.

If I remember correctly, we stopped for breakfast 70 km from Hyd at 8.20 AM (non-stop run except a 5 min bio + stretch break). Bypassed Hyderabad and hit NH7 again around 11:40 AM. And reached Buti Bori before Nagpur around 4:30 PM. Crossed Kemptee around 6:30 PM.

I do Pune to Ahmedabad at least once a year. 700Km. Average runs are 14hrs subject to no traffic jams. I usually take two/three breaks in the journey (1hr each).

This thread title is longest drive not fastest drive.

I also did Mumbai - Bangalore recently. 1040 Kms appx in one go. Only halted near Davangere for 1 hour around 2:30 AM to 3:30 AM.

My longest would be 1140 KMs. Bangalore - Nagpur.

The longest one drive for me was Phuket to Pattaya in a rented Honda Jazz. Total distance covered was around 1000 kms with a top speed of 170ish.

Not sure whether the comment was meant at me. I responded since you questioned my average speed. In any case, average speed influences how far you can drive to some extent. As does road luck e.g. not geting stuck due to a huge jam say at level crossings.

My longest drive in a day is 575 miles from Las Vegas to Sacramento which is 920 kms. Just one halt for refueling and refreshing up. Took approximately 7 hours 30 mins including 20 mins of stop.

Over a period of 6 days, we did approximately 2500 miles(4000 km) in three states that works out to 417 miles(666.6 kms) a day.

My longest drive in India was Jodhpur - Mumbai, 1000 Kms in 16 Hours with pee-breaks and one refuel break, in my Punto 90HP.
Away from India, It was in Saudi, from Jordan Border to Riyadh, where I covered 1060 kms (out of 1450kms) in 6.5 hours (yes, I was flying in a Camry 2.4 )

My drives-
Ghaziabad to Mhow(M.P.)-about 960kms,via Jaipur-Kota(night stay)-Jhalawar-Ujjain-Indore spread over 2 days ,car was Alto.
Mhow to Mumbai-about 619kms via Malegaon-Shirdi(night stay)-Sinnar-Ghoti-Mumbai spread over 2 days ,car was Alto.
Muzaffarpur to Gurgaon-about 1100kms via Ayodhya-Lucknow-Kanpur-Agra spread over 2 days with night stay at Lucknow ,car was Ritz.

I have never done more than 800 km odd in a day, but two drives come to mind, which were longest in a different sense - Without breaks of any kind (food, water, loo, sightseeing), for different reasons altogether.

First was from Nice to Perpignan in France. Distance of just under 500 km, and the time available was 6 hours, in which time we had to catch a train at the destination. What made this even more interesting and thrilling was that I had never driven a left hand side car before this (luckily got a driver friendly Ford Fusion) and that even at the best of stretches I couldn't speed beyond 120 kmph because of speed limits (not particularly fond of visiting police stations abroad ). So, scrambled through the way, stopping only for tolls, dropped the car at Hertz Perpignan and boarded the train to Barcelona, just 10 minutes before it departed. Phew!

The second was Bangalore to Karwar via Hubli, alone, non stop, en route to Goa. 625 km, 7 hours, again stopping only for tolls. That was my first open road experience with the newly acquired Laura TSI and I just could not get enough of it, so kept going till the clock struck 14:00 and the belly yelled "Lunch"!
