Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Armymen beat up traffic cops after being fined
1. Does not show the military personnel in any positive light.
2. It also would not give the right message if Bangalore Traffic Police does not take this case to its logical conclusion (i.e leveling a formal charge sheet against the soldiers, with more focus on Sec 353 IPC).

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

An Indicab had rammed into the divider on the Ring Road - Sarjapur Road junction at 6:30 AM causing a bit of traffic jam early morning. The cab coming from Iblur had hit the divider which splits the traffic to ring road and sarjapur road.

Traffic cop were already present there and clearing the traffic.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Hi,

While coming to work super early at 4:30 am today :| saw huge trailer trucks, parked on the side at Silkboard, opposite to fern hill, one truck, was what it seemed stuck under the silk board flyover! Wonder where it was trying to go via BTM!

Hope it did not lead to any jams when office going junta started.

Regards
Shailesh

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

BSK 3rd Stage traffic is frozen solid between Deve Gowda Bunk junction and Mysore Road (including all arterial roads), since 12.30PM with no signs of easing off.

Avoid if possible!

Got stuck on Mysore road for over 2 hours today morning. The police blocked the main road due to some temple festivities for 3 days on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami. Traffic was diverted into small lanes leading to complete grid lock.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Bangalore West Residents - Time to brace up !

Two fly-overs, Two under-passes in a 1km stretch from Manjunath nagar to NPS.

May be they should have just had one long underpass from the KEB / BESCOM compound all the way past NPS, and connecting roads at current road /ground level at the 3 junctions (Shivanagar, Variar Bakery, and NPS).

Seems like a combination of Ram Navami festivities at Nayandahalli Hanuman Temple and digging work ongoing at the Nayandahalli ORR junction (noticed a roadworks icon on G-Maps, didn't dare to tread there in person). The situation was no better (probably worse) when I stepped out around 9PM for some errands on foot. I have nothing against people wanting to celebrate festivals, but shutting down a busy State Highway without alternate routes for multiple days just so some people can indulge in revelry is utter insanity.

Where exactly? I'm driving to Mysore tomorrow so would probably need to find an alternative route.

That should actually be the norm everywhere. One long over/underpass, with entry/exit points at necessary places. Much better than the bottleneck-to-bottleneck structures we have today. Helps nobody but the contractor building the junk.

I would like to recommend everyone reading to stay away from the end of infantry road during weekends even at the time of 10.30 PM. The traffic is horrific even at that time of the day. Traffic signal violators also have a gala time here. Try going through alternative routes.

Cheers.

Just after getting down from the Mysore road flyover, the traffic is diverted through small lanes to join the outer ring road. Better to take NICE road to avoid the gridlock

As per posts and pictures in the Bellandur Forum groups, the work was closely monitored by the Citizen groups active in the area and also by Mr Rao Ganesh-HSR Traffic Inspector. So hopefully the road will hold good and not break up at the first rains. Saw the below pictures in the FB page of Mr Rao Ganesh inspecting and monitoring the work almost throughout the night after he was done with his regular policing shift.

Mr Rao Ganesh has garnered quite a big fan following through his dedicated and continuous efforts to drive small and significant improvements to the chaotic Sarjapur Road-ORR-Belandur Areas. Lot of the work he has done are actually supposed to be driven by BBMP/BESCOM etc.. He also has a dedicated Fan page now on FB (Link)

Tonight they will be tarring Harlur road after 9PM. Starting from Sarjapur road junction.

Mr. Rao Ganesh has quite the fan following. My apartment has a thank you card which they are asking residents to sign.
