Only postpaid airtel works. Not too sure about data card. As for internet cafe's I am told there are a plenty and internet connectivity is decent

BSNL postpaid is the one with best connectivity in those parts.
They are probably offering GPRS also now.

I have a query regarding BSNL networks?
Do pre-paids work or in this case too only post paids work.

Also any idea whether Vodafone works???

Only Post-paid BSNL and Airtel.

Cannot be sure about Vodaphone yet. Everyone makes premature claims!

True.
Even in Sabarimala during Ayyappa season every operator used to claim full network coverage from the last 4 years. Except BSNL nobody provides coverage.Only from the last season are the private operaters providing service.
BSNL is the best, even though I dont use it (network always busy in Bangalore)

Confirmed with another person, who says as of last year, only postpaid BSNL and Airtel. Data card interent disabled, only through cyber cafe. So in all probability status quo last year.

Here is my plan.
The Good part : I have 3 weeks leave
The Bad Part : It can be anytime from May 15th to Sept 15, no idea till mid april when the window will popup. I am hoping its not between June 15-Aug 15 as thats peak tourist season!

And abnormal rain to spoil your fun. Do it around end August. Climate will be better.

If it happens after monsoon, then starting date will be around 15th August. Monsoon will mostly be gone by then, and anyways, after Manali no rain issue

Okay this is the next edition of a very good framework schedule. Do update it as you fine tune it. People can program their Ladakh tour based upon the detail. One thing may be you can concentrate on the Zanskar area more rather than do the Spiti area superficially.

For me, If only some company sponsors the tour - amenable to all of the Safari surface area for pasting whatever they want, the cladding does make terrific billboard - and in return they fund the trip. Simple conditions, so any leads??

Harjeev,

With Airtel's advent, Vodafone works just fine. I've even been told Idea has worked as well. But you need NATIONAL roaming, not operator roaming.
