One thing you can do is, buy a car cover > reach office > Quick de-dust > Cover-----(in office)----->uncover > reach home > quick de-dust > Cover

Thats what I do!!

Advantage of using cover in office(other than UV protection) is the 'out of sight out of mind' effect! some crazy ppl are always out to vandalize a good looking car just for kicks!!
cover will help your car slip from their mind unnotticed (even jealous co-workers! lol)

a shining car out of the owner's sight is a huge risk if you ask me!

(Jopasu duster will work nicely, quickly and will minimize the swirls produced by the normal cloth or dry MF towel(as once MF towel is saturated with dust, it'll start creating swirls))
Thanks for your advice there sohail. But, I have a different solution to this problem. Its a unique but an expensive solution.

Have booked a Ritz vxi for daily office commuting . The magnum will be mostly for personal work. Delivery should be in the next 2 weeks.

But that will be a new car and its dark blue so I also have to take good care of it as well. May be the car cover is really required because I will also keep this one shining!

Car Cleaning cloath from reliance

Recently i bought a pair of special cloths for car & glass cleaning from
Reliance Super Retail. Cloath make is Reliance itself & gives amazing results while drying ur car after washing. It doesnt leave any water marks on glass & body.cost 90-99 Rs./ pair. I believe, every one should try it.

Just did a 2nd coat of Carnauba wax with synthetic sealant as the primary coat(called as 'Wet ice over fire' finish! lol)

now I'll cure it for 24hrs and then assess the final finish!

I think the results are impressive! most of the minor swirls seem to have been filled up and hidden and now, even under the sun the finish is 'near' flawless!
(It'd be really flawless if I had a DA polisher! :( )

anyways here are the pics! enjoy

Whoaaaa!! thats some cool finishing man. Its looking just awesome man. Look at the reflection in the paint..Its looking better than brand new i guess. The metallic effect of the paint is just superb and looks prominent. Even the alloys are looking cool. Good work done yesterday!

What wax did you use this time? Will you do another coat after 24 hrs? How are you going to cure it? I want this finish on my car now!!

Lol thanks!

the Carnauba wax was a 'Formula1 Gold Carnauba clear coat wax' (I couldn't find any other reliable carnauba paste wax)

the primary sealant on which the 2 carnauba coats were done was 'NXT TechWax2.0'

time taken for each coat to cure was 24hrs!

I think its all for this month! maybe a third coat next week or on Sunday!

sohail, the metallic shine is clearly visible on your car. Does the NXT Techwax2.0 enhance this? What exactly does the NXT Techwax do? What do u think made the swirls disappear?

TechWax is a synthetic sealant consisting of polymers that bind together and form a seal over the clearcoat to prevent interaction of the clear with harmful stuff in the environment!
it has very very minor swirl hiding properties!

and a pure carnauba wax adheres to a cured sealant surface readily(due to interaction of its solvents with the polymers in the sealant)

for swirls, I had used 'clear nanowax spray' prior to laying down the primary TechWax coat.
nanowax spray claims to fill up the swirls! and does a pretty good job too(might not be effective on heavy swirls) my i20 is just 6months old so...

How did you cure the surface? I think the nanowax and the techwax are both meg products right?

nanowax is 'eagle one''s product

Actually I came across it when I was looking for a spray wax to maintain the primary and secondary wax coats(in order to maintain that 'just waxed' look in between proper waxing sessions)

It is available here in India!

I noticed that it effectively lessened the swirls and the back label said that it fills in the swirls and hides them 'temporarily'

so I thought that if I fill in the swirls and then seal the finish, the 'swirl-lessness' will remain for quite some time!

Main thing is surface prep! Before laying down the 1st coat I had clayed the surface,
used a paint cleaner > F1 Metallic car polish(contains some synthetic sealant) >

next day nanowax spray and NXT coat! after waxing coverd the car and gave it ~12-24hrs for the NXT to 'cure'(to strengthen its polymer bonds)

after 'curing' 2nd coat with carnauba and so on!

EDIT - did you notice my i20 in my avatar! its when I first saw it at the dealership! now, after 6 months it looks much better! lol
