Instead of a cotton baniyan, I'd recommend you get a dedicated wash mitt!! (its easily available in car care accessory shops)

Does one generously use water with these wash mitts or just scrub with a damp mitt? One option is to just pour water on the car liberally and then scrub the water dry with a wash mitt. Other is to take plain water, soak the mitt in it and rub away !

Wash mitts are good for shampoo/soap + water. The mitts hold the suds so that you can work it over the surface. Use the mitt to spread the soapy water over the car surface. Do not scrub/rub too hard or you will induce scratches. Trick is to use the suds liberally to dislodge most of the dirt. Use a water jet or a mug and bucket to rinse out and then use a m/f towel to dry.

To save water you can look at No Rinse wash products.

I am new to Waxing, claying etc. and dont know much about it.
Now imagine that i need to go throught all these stuff to get some idea.

Any one any shortcut to get all the details in one place?
My car required some detailing now.
I looked for posts from some regulars here, though i also feel that there should be a sort of detailing guide. Hope someone can create it

I have one for about the same price. It's pretty good value, though the misting part needs careful adjustment of the lever.

Folks, only the attachment costs 75rs. The hose is have is a normal translucent pipe use to water plants etc.

Go to any local hardware shop near your area and ask for this. Those shops also sell water hose but i wanted to experiment first with the spray attachment only.

I had to tie both ends of the pipe to attachment & tap securely so that it wont come off during the spray.

Regarding durability - dont throw it on the floor. I really doubt it will survive few falls. Will try to post the pics of the hose and spray

Here is pic of the water spray attachment.

I have a similar one too. Doesn't yours have the metal flip switch to hold the jet stream on?

If I was the sort of person that kept a clean, shiny car <Blush>, then I'd probably know about specialist shops in Singapore --- but just a note to say that there is a whole section of car cleaning stuff on the top floor of Mustafa complex.

If anyone is going to Singapore, and doesn't know anywhere better, then this is well worth a look. You'd probably at least come out with an arm full of microfibre cloths!

(I just got home from there)

Micro fibers are really very important. However we do have decent options in india now, right from Reliance, shell to our own BHPians Ultimate Detailerz( mkh and nirmal) we got ample choices and great quality. I got some really good ones from mkh at same rates as US, so no more hunting for people going abroad

You can find it easily in hardware stores, at both Gurgaon & South Delhi. If you can't find one, then let me know & I will get you one.
