Is this related to tire, wheel bearings or drive shaft ?

I noticed this sound coming after a wheel alignment and balancing job.

Thanks
When you get off the accelerator, press the clutch. Does it die down? My belt when it gave away, made a similar racket whipping inside the bay.

Re: What's that sound?

Guys please help me out.

I was trying to fix up cold start issues in Chevy Spark. I eventually tried resetting ECU by removing negative terminal for 15 minutes. After reassembling I took my car to a spin to my horror car was making huge growling sound (like what planes do just before take off) from the middle or back side. This sound increases with acceleration and vanishes when car is standstill. This sound comes after I cross 20 and becomes very loud at 80kmph. I could also observe decrease in pickup. I drove to office today with same condition but I am very scared.

Car in question went for alignment and balancing just a day before and got a CNG kit fitted.

Sounds like a leaking exhaust system.
All the observations you have mentioned point to that and moreover Spark has the issue of muffler rusting and leaking.

Suggest you check for exhaust leaks and get them plugged or replace the muffler.

Thanks!!

Few doubts
1) Why it didn't show up when car is still and I floor the accelerator
2) It has to do anything with ECU reset or it is just a coincidence
and lastly
how urgent it is to get that fixed? Can I wait till weekend?

If it is coming when in motion then I don't think it is exhaust leakage. Hopefully it is not bearing sound.

If there is no sound when the engine is revv'd when the car is not moving, then it is not a exhaust leak.
I assumed the engine was in idle when in standstill.

Re: What's that sound?

Your best bet is to get the car on a workshop lift and inspected thoroughly, preferably with a trustworthy service technician present. Guesswork at home when you probably can't clearly see the offending part/area won't lead to any proper conclusions.

I agree with Chethan. There is no point in trying to find a pin on haystack.

Take the car to any reputed FNG or if you trust the Chevy ASC, decorate that sound to them and you'll get the solution.

Do check for wheel bearings in all 4 wheels.

This is normal, and it is the fuel pump which is present under the rear seat.

It was diagnosed as tyre noise by Honda.

Re: What's that sound?

Car in question is a Dzire VDI. Done around 27kms.

Off late, when i take some bad roads (which are everywhere) there is a 'clunk' kind of sound coming from the right side and I think its from the front tyre. What could this be?

Recently, I had to get the vehicle checked for a juddering sound and vibration in the steering whenever the steering is tilted slightly to the left and I go over bad patches. The service center fixed it and they said they did not change anything, but greased the rack and pinion. Suggestions?

Re: What's that sound?

The car in question is a 6 month old Honda Mobilio. It has done ~5000 kms.

Whenever we take the car on a bad road or a simple bump, there is this shuddering sound coming from the rear right side. I suspect it is coming from the exhaust, but hey, I'm only in 9th grade.

Can someone tell me if this is normal or what you guys think about it.

Please and thank you.

Abnormally loud sounds when running on bad roads / potholes

Hi

When I drive my old swift (2009 model), I feel very loud sounds (like dropping some heavy object from a height) particularly when crossing bad roads and potholes. It feels like shockers are gone or tyres have no air; but I have replaced my shockers few years back and the tyres also have good air pressure. Can someone help me identifying whether the in cabin insulation has weakened or what could be the problem? I am taking the car for servicing now and want to get this corrected.

Thanks.

Swift "Khat Khat" Sound From Underhood

Mods : Kindly merge with existing thread, if any .

Issue : Swift Petrol 2007, Khat Khat sound before ignition

Hello Friends,

My swift vehicle is facing a unique noise " khat khat " sound from the enginebay. It happens randomly. Have been to the service station, but couldn't reproduce it before them. They just tightened the fan belt.

This is how it happens.

I push the key in, make one turn [ Ignition is not yet happened ] . All Pumps churn and then the "khat khat " sound starts continuously. Sometimes, it happens, sometimes it doesn't. It is as if something is getting hurt inside or something is turning and touching something before the engine is started.

Sound can be heard from the left of the engine bay, at the place marked in the picture attached.

Any help in finding the solution is highly appreciated.
