The USB port is damaged and I guess the USB socket / Aux-in and the wiring to the rear of the audio system needs replacement.

Thanks.

Seeing this late, but isnt the USB and Aux port integrated with the head unit? Or is it a separate part connected to the head unit? If it is the former, then the head unit itself will have to be replaced if you go the clean way, else you can get it opened outside at an electronics repair shop and get a new port soldered. If it is indeed distinct, then you can mount the two ports elsewhere using the part from the other cars like Swift, Celerio, Ertiga, Ciaz and so on and make use of the cabling which is already existing or buy that one too. But the cable and the port costs around 1k each.

Else, just swap the head unit if you find a give away. My SX4 had a damaged aux port and I was lucky to get a unit from a fellow BHPian and I just swapped it out.

Sorry, NEXA cars have a different DMS server, which I cannot access. So won't be able to help you with the workshop manual part number(You can get it from MASS).

Details of Spare part manual:

Part No: 99000M24120-959
Name: PART CATALOGUE BALENO
Price: Rs. 245

PS: Make sure they get you the latest parts manual. Old one didn't have section for RS. Same part number has been updated to accomodate RS section too.

Shashi

I can surely help you with the part details, but it will be better if you look at your ECM. It has a part number and you should get only that.

My car is at the garage and I've been told it needs to have the entire ECU/ECM replaced. They're' quoting INR 13k for it.
Hence I thought I should get an independent price verification.
As the vehicle is at the workshop I can't get the part number. Sorry!

Can you still help?

Thanks!

Upon selecting the mentioned variant and year, the system is throwing out 9 part numbers which went in cars of that batch. Prices are varying from 11.7k to 30k.

Even the dealerships or MASS order the same way. They look at the part number of the older ECM, and order same or equivalent part. At least for ECMs, they never ever refer to DMS. Other method is ordering via VIN(which I cannot do from my end). VIN method is followed when the sticker on the ECM is not readable for some reason.

I can give you part numbers of all those 9 ECMs, but it will only add to confusion and nothing else. Your best option is to get the exact same ECM with the exact same part number which is mentioned on your older ECM.

Regards,
Shashi

PS: My friend recently had to change ECM on his 2009 Alto LXi, and its price was 12.7k. Then also we followed same method of ordering the part.

This is actually really helpful, the MASS quote I was given of 13k seemed to my uninformed ears higher than I would have expected for a car like the Alto. (I was hoping it would be around 5-7k) But the as price I was given was the same as the one your friend received for his 2009 Alto (12.9k) this gives me peace of mind that I am being charged the actual price.

Thank you once again for helping so accurately and promptly, I really appreciate it!

Approximately 33 rupees. The B &C pedal pads cost 12 rupees each, while the A pedal pad costs around 9 rupees. Do you need the part numbers too??

Shashi

Thanks guys!
I did a little jugaad - used a small extension cable and fitted the connector into the port using some paper wound around the metal part of the connector to hold it tight in the receptacle. It works, but my wife wants it to look neat, so will go with your suggestion of splicing in a good USB port. Don't want to spend ridiculous amounts of money on a connector.
