Oil + Filter costs just below Rs.1200/-. Dont really remember the exact costs.

I am really amazed with this? Why does the Maruti cars always tend to give figures very close to the ARAI rating while other lag behind!!! What is the secret behind this?

Maruti when setting up the cars for indian roads, sets it up for one thing, FE.

The A-star, Alto, WagonR and estilo were so heavily tuned for FE that the drive was sometimes jerky. When you release the acc pedal, the fuel cut off would be so abrupt that the car would actually jerk forward. This was a known issue and it was cos of FE.

Lots of other aggressive settings to make them the most FE cars as possible.

No body replaces airbags. Haven't heard or seen such an instance yet. The cost is high enough to consider the car a total loss. And unless its a faulty mechanism that inflates airbags, its assumed that have been into a serious head on collision warranting tons more repair work and not just airbag replacement. So question on the replacement cost for airbags mostly is left unanswered.

I have test driven a punto for which the airbags had come out. Apparently there was a collusion on one of the test drives and the air bags popped out. There was no great damage to teh car so the dealer continued to use the car but never replaced the bags. One look at the dash of the car and you could figure out that the airbags used to be there though. This was at the fiat dealership in TVM.

I think you did not understand. He was excited at his purchase and took the delivery last thursday. He is my colleague and not a close buddy. I doubt whether he may take in a right sense if I point a remark about his car on the first look.
-Mustang confirmed that not all Apollo's are defective. There are also good ones in the lot
- I can very well say to him after initial craze is over and will be in a mood to accept the defects of his new buy.

Guys need your help, in my ownership thread i have posted the dent on the wheel arch, it should be in the last page the pictures.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...orado-red.html

When i asked the service guy he suggested the dent will be removed by heat and the entire front quarter panel be repainted.
Thats crazy for tat dent to do?

Any suggestions?

That's what they did on my Fiesta as well and it was done perfectly. They have some specialized equipment. I went to the Chennai Ford body shop at Poonamale and those guys are really good.

I checked with some dealers, Airbags are very much replaced. Skoda's cost 1.3 Lakhs and Hyundai i20 around 2 Lakhs.

Sometimes even for a crash of 20KM speed the airbag can open. The sensor at the front calculates and opens the airbag.

The sales guys told like if you hit a wall it will open.

It is a good question from Kadir about the airbags and nothing to laugh about.

Airbags have to be replaced if they get deployed in an accident or accidentally as happens when you hit a speed bumper or big pothole at very high speeds as an example. It can also get deployed in case of faulty circuitry or rust /corrosion of circuitry in high humidity environments. Sometimes it can even get deplyed in slow speed collision if the deceleration is very sudden.

Also airbags need to be inpspected approximately after every 10 years to make sure that they are in working condition and replaced if found to be faulty( In case you retain the vehicle that long).
