re: 2010 Maruti Alto K10 : Review

Does anyone know where the OBD port is on the AltoK10? Is it OBD-I or OBD-II? I plan to buy one of those bluetooth thingies on eBay that hook up to your smartphone for the full info. Anyone who has already bought an OBD diagnostics thing for the K10? Any feedback ?

I think it is OBD 2 IIRC all maruthi MPFI cars come with OBD 2. It should be located beside the center console (near the cigarette lighter) or near the fuse box .Got to check once!

Re: Now a limited edition - musik Alto K10

The marketing team in Maruti probably realized that the phrase "Limited Edition" sounds a little clichéd. So they racked their brains and came up with a different one this time.

What next, Desire Disco?

Why do they have to do it, Alto pretty much sells good enough. Good they launched it as limited edition.

BTW the graphics look yuck.

Re: Now a limited edition - musik Alto K10

Probably Maruti wants to launch the K10 motor in the Alto 800 shell,so they are clearing up the stocks. Any way Alto k10 looks too dated now-a-days after the launch of the Alto 800. People who want the K10 motor generally prefer Wagon-R. A-Star and Estilo with k10s were market duds. The in town driveability should be improved in the next k10 car because these are city cars and that should do the trick. They should also introduce hydraulic mounts to dampen the trademark vibrations at idle of the K10B.

Yeah and I don't think they have any speakers at the back as well. What a musik edition. And why the music with the k? To draw in the younger generation?

I think they have highlighted the "K" letter (K for K-series)

Re: Now a limited edition - musik Alto K10

Is Maruti aware about the fact that they scored ZERO in the safety department for this car? Are people aware of the safety for this car? If yes why would one purchase a car which has ZERO safety with some fancy tools and paint work?

Re: Now a limited edition - musik Alto K10

Maruti marketing dept seems to be going crazy. These gimmicks won't fly, not in such a competitive segment. And as others have pointed out, its not even close to being a superior audio experience with puny 4 inch speakers. Tacky graphics, universal mats, mud flaps, seriously?

Such a waste of your marketing budgets, especially in a recessionary market, where you need to make each paisa count. Really running out of ideas at Maruti.

Well said Kratos.

Instead, an airbag would have been an ideal mod.

Maruti should stop playing these pranks on Indian consumers. Earlier, the same trick has been used with Wagon R Lxi, when they sold the car as Wagon r Pro.

If you think this is bad, you should read this: http://www.team-bhp.com/news/suzuki-...cept-indonesia

Maruti is just taking us for granted. They think they can even sell a potato with some stickers on it

re: 2010 Maruti Alto K10 : Review

Yet again Maruti's marketing team has come out with a special edition model.

Looks like we need to initiate a campaign to request all manufactures tp stop such meaningless "Special Edition Cars"
