There is a flyover actually outside the airport now, but I guess you mean the big complex Kathipara Junction system. Yes, it has made a huge difference.

Yesterday I saw the other big, new flyover system at the junction of the 100-foot road with the Ambatur Road. Last time I went up that way, they were building it, and it was a mess.

Is one coming up for the Poonamalee High Road junction too?

The idea to build one massive overhead road down the marina beach front, though is just monstrous and dreadful.

Hey! We have lovely weather here!

Mind you, it's a but chilly in December.

If you had anything to say about the mosquitoes, on the other hand, I would not disagree! They are the worst thing about Chennai.

Madras can be maintained (including roads, dirt, garbage, sewage, Couum, etc.) a lot better than how it is being done today.

Still, the first prize of civic disaster (between Madras and Bangalore) goes to Bangalore

But for the Bangalore weather...

Nice and Madras looks Great,I Hope the Past Glory of Madras to Return. If I Search for Old Photos(100 years old) ,I can get results mainly for Madras,Calcutta and Bombay. That Says a Lot about What Importance These Cities Had in British India.

Is there Still the Drinking Water Scarcity Issue there?Has TN Government did something to resolve this?I heard about plans for desalination plants.

Back to this thread, heh?
There's no water scarcity. I can't remember having that issue even during the summer.
That said, I can think of about 200,000 crore rupees of investment that has come into the city.
So, cheers!

On Mount Road. Really adds character to the place. Excellent artwork. Any idea who executed this?

I did not know that Mount Rd/Anna Salai was NH 45.

Another thing I really appreciate about Madras is that it is possible to crawl along at 5kmph beside the pavement without holding up rush hour traffic. These pics were taken at 10:35 AM.
Taking down those huge advertisement boards was a good move.

It is nice, yes. I haven't seen it yet. I remember that it was in the newspapers when they were doing it.

There are some nice wildlife paintings on the wall of the new, upcoming Adyar park too.
