Do agree that the Chennai weather is nothing much to talk about, with the 3 seasons being hot, hotter & hottest. But for someone from Hyderabad to say that Chennai weather sucks, is like .

Well, It doesn't snow here! But People don't sweat like crazy here as compared to Chennai! (well, I took bath 4 times in a day for the couple of days I was there and then got a bashing since the water was bought and not from the bore-well as it was dry!)

try being in cool climate and then u realise its not as great as its made out to be...

I'd rather sweat it out and have a nice cold shower than wait for half hour for the heater to heat the water so that i can wash my

every country will have its own inconsistencies US or ugandaa, india or UK.
chennai is looking good in those photographs.
it is true that there is a regulation governing the street lighting around airports.

Nice images. Madras (What is Chennai ?! - If you say Chennai, you're not from Madras !!) looks a lot neater in these photographs, than it actually is.

Was there last weekend - some observations:

1. Motorists stop at the STOP line - something unheard of in Bangalore.
2. At about 5 in the morning, my taxi driver stopped the car at a red signal for a full minute, and moved only when it turned green (Secret: Hidden Traffic Police Cameras)
3. Accent Police Cars look good - but how effective are they? Can someone throw light?

I see vehicles ( except for some two wheelers and autos ) waiting for the lights to turn green even at 3am.
The hidden cameras are effective. I paid a fine for jumping a yellow light at 1am.

Have observed the same almost two-three years back. The traffic slows down & stops when the signal is amber.

I used to smile at some of the visible cameras while riding pillion with my uncle!

I used to see some Auto races happening near Triplicane few years back. Do they still have those?
Another Observation: Even though some of the roads are relatively narrow, there are no huge traffic jams due to sensible driving. It is completely opposite where I stay!
