Its 948cc. 4 Cyl. Single Solex carb.
Lovely car btw! This is indeed a mk2. But the front parking lights are taken from a mk1 or mk3. The originals were 2 separate round lights for indicator and parking, mounted on either side on a separate plate:

AFAIK, Standard didnt provide this particular colour on the mk2, but a darker shade of green known as Conifer Green.

Well getting the exact right shade would be like finding a needle in a haystack now! The best you can do is mix n match. If it helps, here are some pics. of a couple of mk3 Heralds in what would've been the right shade:

Then this one is modified to resemble the mark 3 from the front. There is a combination park cum turn indicator by the side of the headlamps.

Find below link to know the exact shade & its formulation. This would be very helpful in case of re-finishing your car.

Re: Standard cars in India

@ MEISNUTZ, those colour shades seem to be of Triumph Heralds, not Standard Heralds, like the one you own.
It is quite possible Standard offered different India-specific colour shades here.

Your Herald is a Mark II is it not?

Only the parking lights are changed to a mk3's. Rest everything is original.

Many had made this change to mk2 as they came with some 'rare' parking lights and indicators, which were later not available. So the rectangular "Lucas L595" type which came on the mk1 and again on the mk3 were more commonly available as spares.

Yes it IS very much a Mark II.

The colour "Conifer Green" is not shown in this shade and besides, colours shown on a hard paper catalogue (which is 40+ years old too!) will not give the same accuracy for the real shade.

@stanher,

I am trying to tow the car with my car or drive it down.Since you know every detail about this car I wanted you to look into the possibility and let me know what all could go wrong.
Since this is here I would appreciate you replying me there I just want to save here from being sold to some one else.

regards
Nutz
