Hi, sorry for the delayed response. Congratulations on a very well done up Endeavor, I remember reading through your thread before buying the Thar.

These alloys are of a brand called HR. I have used them before on my Getz and Accord and have had no problems - would recommend them.

This is the website >> www.alloywheelsindia.com . You can run the filters to reach up to the part where they will give you some 20 odd designs for the Thar in 16 inches.

My particular design pretty much the oldest; model no. is H276.

Cheers!

In most cases, even I believe in functionality before form, especially where there is a critical function involved. But not sure if I could go in for a "dorky looking" snorkel. But damn sure I wouldn't go for a non-effective/ dummy/ poor-installed snorkel as well.

That's a nice half-rally style body! Could you share more details on that? Is that a hard or soft material? Where can I get a top like that?

Cheers!

About the black & half-rally style body - do you mean something like this?

On the Snorkel . ..

PLEASE share more inputs on this ASAP. I am not really keen on a snorkel .. does not go with the Jeep look I have in mind - but since I am expecting some in-water activity this month end so any immediate advice would be most appreciated.

A "sleeper" snorkel would be a cool thing to have on the Jeep.

Your above statement is exactly 50% correct

Well, the black one in the picture you saw above was in Fibre-Reinforced-Polymer (FRP). It comes in two-pieces and is removable. This was the first one done by Bimbra about 2 months ago, not sure if they have done any other in FRP till now.

Just Last week they completed another one in the same design. But this time it was in metal, and non-removable but most likely based on the same dye - so two pieces welded to one and then welded to the body. Here are two pictures for you. More details here > .. https://www.facebook.com/bimbra4x4

Dear Manveet - absolutely not! These look terrible, the rake angles are completely wrong, mine will look absolutely fantastic. . I'll do it when I buy my vehicle at my price! At least now I will not have to worry about CMVR and "other factors". .

Best regards,

Hi vivekjayasheel,

A friend is looking for pre owned Thar CRDe 4WD in Pune, we went through all the available sources however cannot find a single vehicle below 6.5 L.
Can you please share information about Sawhney Motors Pune.

Thanks in advance !

re: Never thought I'd buy a Mahindra Thar! My Jeep Story. EDIT: Now sold

LOL it's better you check out the vehicles before thinking it is shockingly low ;-) there was a red thar and a black one and the latter seemed to be stooping at the front. The red one was nice, even came with a boombox speaker kept in the rear between the bench seats. Owner was quoting 4.5 but the Sawhney guy said it won't go for a dime over 3.5. I just hope if nothing else, it brings down the prices of the army auction junk.

There is a big car bazaar on Hadapsar road (Sai car bazaar or something at the corner of one of the big junctions). Even that had a couple of Thars for sale. I was just passing that way and noticed. Those were also for 3.5 to 4 L.

Ok, so I am planning a very interesting mod, not sure if it has been implemented on the Thar before.

Experts, please advise if this is technically feasible. And recommended? Any drawbacks?
