Oh, turning out to be a complete restoration job. Nice for the jeep, no so for the wallet. Anyways, good it is in Gopals hands.

Pretty rare to see such a clean workshop - compared to others.

Pardon my ignorance. Where is this place? Does he work on diesel engines too? I am planning to build my my 340 ground up. Is the old man expensive? Is he the same opposite your house? These are the things I wanted to call you up and enquire.

This garage is on Kanakapura road. and not the guy in front of my house.

The place I am having my Jeep attended to - Yes he does diesel too! Even I was ignorant and had my Jeep messed up at the earlier place until I got to know of Gopal through Jaggu!

He is good with his job, but he will take his sweet time also. But whatever he does he puts his heart and soul in. Don't expect it to be el cheapo or super fasto. Diesel/Petrol it really does not matter to him, but yes he has a weakness for vintages with little bit of challenges thrown in.

Darn! You have given it away!

But I still hope someone points it out and also tells me the negatives of it so far on the engine.

Jaggu - today I almost got a shock when Gopal took me to a engine block to show cracks along the bore and I thought it was my engine block and was about to burst out crying when he said it was Bhanu's jeeps block.

Man - there are cracks along the length of the entire bore!

and don't worry your jeep engine bore was definitely in much better shape. Really feel sorry for Bhanu, his jeep engine was completely built very recently! Before it went to Gopal.

Good one Chengappa! I don't think it was that hard for the experts to miss. I am glad I am on this forum. We have so many keen eyes and ever helping hands! Long live T-BHP!

May be last time the engine was dismantled, the mechanic (whoever) must've simply assembled it all without actually giving it a thought.

Now the next part of the question - What is the impact of the valve spring being upside down?

It will affect the working of valves, coz the characteristics of compression and rebound will be different? Valve timing will not be correct and chances of valve leakage?
