Do take the pics and post them too, would love to see the treasure once before it goes inside the engine. Check with him about estimate so that you can be prepared. But as far as i have seen his engine rebuild, you can be assured of a great job.

That fiat engine he was building is coming out almost like factory spec, you would have noticed the way in which he was using a dial gauge to set the clutch forks.

One thing about Gopal - There is no doubt about his workmanship! Most methodical mechanic I have ever noticed.

Here are the jewels (parts) that'd go into The Hulk.

Spike sir - as you see in the pics - Pistons (next size), rings, valves, bearings etc are going to be changed. When in Bangalore - please note that besides Dwarf, you have the Hulk too at your disposal! And I am sure Dwarf will NOT be at Gopal's! it will be ravaging the roads/non-roads of Bangalore and around!

All parts except the crankshaft is back after the lathe work. here are the pics. The head will be washed, cleaned and painted today and Hope assembly begins asap.

Looking good! I think your decision of going with the color is also good, will match the military feel. Really want to check out it in person tomorrow when i visit

Would've wanted the "original" paint set up for the engine. But decided against it as the body is drab military green and did not want a shiny/blue engine - thought it would've been a mismatch.

Would love to meet up with you tomorrow! Hope you take the DwArF out of the heat and dust! It was heart wrenching to see it being baked in the sun.

Trip? Plans? Don't tell me he was planning to go out of town! Man, I would've been crestfallen! I was hoping he'd finish up my Jeep by this week. but since he wasn't happy with the lathe work had to send the block back to the lathe. and if he had gone, then it would've just added another few weeks to the schedule

Regarding running - Good question - On my next visit, I will ask him what kind of running in he is planning.

More techy stuff - you can educate me on it on Saturday!
