It was available in stock and took 1hr for re-registering the warranty and things to my account.
Thanks for sharing the info.

You did great by going the way of the replacement phone. Because i'm not sure apple has a screen repair service in india. They only give replacements.
And this service center seems a little off, considering that they have the audacity to offer an Oem compatible screen.

Finally took the jump. Got the black iPhone 7 32GB. Migration of data was flawless. Was up and running in no time. Will go to Apple Store later today and shop around for cover and screen protector. Any pointers most welcome.

Thanks all.

I am using Spigen clear back case for 6s plus. Quite good and in about 5 months of use not turned yellow.

The assistive touch of my iPhone 6 freezes from time to time. Anyone experiencing the same?

Re: The iPhone Thread

My PIECE stopped working and Yerha.com wants me to ship it to N.Delhi for 'repairs'. I withdraw my recommendation for PIECE. Kindly don't buy it. It's not worth ₹4670. it worked well for only 1.5 months and died.

And the 32 GB variant costs 41k here in India

Can you please source one for me from the US?

Re: The iPhone Thread

Never have I been gladder for my iPhone 7 than this past weekend when I was at an "adventure camp" resort to celebrate Holi long weekend. Was attempting a "Tarzan swing" across a moat and completely forgot that I had my phone in my pocket. Landed in 3 feet of slushy water and the phone was none the worse for wear.

Later took the calculated risk of playing Holi with it on my person. No apparent harm done and got some nice pics in the bargain

I need to buy a spare charger and lightening data cable for my IP7+. Could you guys recommend a brand/model? I am thinking of Belkin as I have had great experience with them and the quality is very good.

I'm using an Aukey 3 in 1 USB charger. It comes with US prongs but reliable. Been using for more than a year now. Has one quickcharge port although I don't have a comparable device. Can charge 5V/2.45Amps per port ( 2 non quick charge ports) and a maximum of 45Watts. Has built in over voltage and over current protection. Works with 100-240V supply and hence can be used while travel also.

Here the Amazon link which comes with Indian plugs - http://www.amazon.in/gp/aw/d/B016ZKX...IxL&ref=plSrch

Thanks blackwasp. I am back to Apple after a gap of over 5 years and the Apple world has truly passed me by.

Any tips for a good quality cable?

Ah, just today I've ordered a CELLBELL USB CABLE from Amazon. I went through 2 original cables in the last year which got torn just below the connector. I use a braided generic 3ft cable in car, but that's just for charging as it doesn't support data.

Incase of original cable, using tape at base of the lighting connector will enhance is life. Nothing like the original. Apple sells a 2m lighting cable also which I'm eyeing for usage in car.

Have a look at the braided lightning cables available in the market. Make sure, any cable you buy must be "Apple MFI Certified".
2 brands i can think of, are boat and amazonbasics.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Boys and Girls.

Ive got an iPhone 6 64GB which is in perfect shape. 2 years old. With the Original Box and all the fittings.
Ive also got an iPhone 4S 32 GB in equally perfect shape - now about 4.5 years old. With Original Box and all the fittings.

Is it worth considering trading in both of these or selling them off on OLX or somewhere, and buying the iPhone 7 128 GB?

Or ought I to wait for 7S or 8 whichever is landing up in September of this year?

I would say wait for September. That thing is going to be the 10th Anniversary edition so you can expect quite a lot of hardware and software improvements.
