Re: The iPhone Thread

iOS 12.1 is not showing up in my wife's iPhone 5S software update. It is currently on iOS 12 and has automatic updates turned on. What's wrong?

My wife's 5S isn't heating up AFAIK. But then she isn't a heavy user.

Have a couple of friends who have 5s and have upgraded to ios 12 without any problems.
How old is the phone? Also did you check the battery health(maximum capacity)?

Also is the heating felt even in wifi? At times when cellular network isn't up to mark, or leads to heating as the phone struggles to find an optimum network.

Looks like it has settled down after the update. It's not happening that often or that much anymore.

Phone is three years old; but no point investing in it further as it got a cracked screen (in the few days that it was without a screen guard) last week. I've put a screen guard now to keep things in place and avoid injury. So, plan is to use it for a month or so and get a new one.

I've updated my 5S to iOS 12 when it was released. No heating issues so far.

iPhone x costs around 62k today on amazon, using SBI offer. Is this phone worth this?

Re: The iPhone Thread

They X and the Xs both have identical designs. The screen size/ resolution is the same though you might see a slightly sharper image with improved colors on the Xs given its Dolby Vision support and greater dynamic range according to apple. Maybe a slightly faster Face ID. Better performance though X is plenty fast on its own,YMMV. Apple phones tend to hold their value well over time.
So you should be good getting a discounted X unless you eyeing the Xs.
I sold my s7 edge and got the s9+ but if Apple was my cup of tea it would have been the X.

I guess no matter how much Apple increases the price, there are always going to be movers from Android to iPhone

Btw I moved away from the iOS ship after 4+ years finally, to the "flagship killer" (apparently )

For iPhone XS 64GB Space Grey the cost on Amazon is ₹99,990. With exchange option (for my iPhone 7 Plus), I get ₹22,360 discount. However, according to Amazon, I've to pay ₹1,12,540 with the exchange option!

I think Amazon is broken

Re: The iPhone Thread

I think it is better to sell the mobiles to online sites such as cashify, rather than exchanging it on websites. I have noticed that except for few Mi mobiles, the remaining mobiles get pittance as exchange value.

Maybe it was a glitch. I tried the same things now. Although the calculation is correct, the exchange value is different for some strange reason!
