The Windows Phone Thread

Guys, I have a weird problem in my Lumia 520 running Win 8. Recently download Talking Tom from the windows store but, the same does not show up in the app's list. I assume in Windows phone, the apps get listed alphabetically but, have run through the list many times, no good.

However, if I try and search the store again for Talking Tom it shows that I have downloaded the app and only option I get is to share.

Pls help me fix this issue.

I have Lumia 625, a March 2014 manufactured phone.

The bottom right of the screen seems a little dull than the remaining part of the screen.. This is noticeable only when the display is in low brightness. Also, in the same setting I can see the dark streaks which come due to the lighting at the edges at the same location..

The problem does not occur at medium and high brightness settings.

Not sure if this is a hardware issue. Has any one faced the same problem?

Guys I am a bit confused here. How do I get Windows 8.1 on my Lumia 520?

EDIT: Okay. Got it. So its the Developers version. Any news when will it officially be available?

Yes, whatsapp is back with privacy features enabled. Which means you can hide the "Last seen" notification. However, this also prevents you to see others last seen status.

I searched windows store for "Files" but could not find it there. Searched on google, and found the link. Its good but still has some problems, like files come read only if opened from folders. If you make use of the associated app, you can edit that file but not directly from folder.

I just got the 8.1 OS. Just one observation. I think it has slowed down my phone a bit.

Another update:

Now you can share videos on watsapp. Previously it was not possible.

Have you checked it under Games? Talking Tom is classified as Game.

Got the new WhatsApp update and am already in love with it. Whats new?

- One can now set an image as the background for the chat windows ( no longer boring black )
- Separate tones for group chat / private chat ( we can change it Finally! )
- Privacy settings are much better
- Enter a group, and you are bang on top of where you left from, much easier to follow ( earlier, if it was more than 20 new msgs, you start with the latest message and one had to manually scroll up to read old messages )
- You can now choose to download pics / videos / audio files at will.

Much appreciated update! Loving it

Guys how do you take screenshots in WP 8.1 ? I just realised pressing the lock button and windows button together does not take shots.

I just tried it and here it is: Volume UP button and Power button together.

I got the latest update yesterday. No noticeable difference in experience or battery life so far.
