There was a bug in the N8 in setting up the Mail for Exchange account, now that's been fixed with a software update; I was able to sync my contacts to my Gmail a/c and then back to the Iphone 4 via ITunes.

re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

Hi Friends,
I have used (actually abused & even thrown) my Nokia E50 since 4+ years and still fine. But, now is the time to give myself a new phone. Im a guy who could conservatively invest in mobile phones and my usage is not great: talking, SMS wherein lots is just FWD's, sometime browsing and GMaps (with GPRS at the moment).

Android would be my consideration. Now the painful part for me, selecting the right device. Y'day went to a store and gazed at some Samsungs and HTC, mostly in the range of 9000-15000, but came our simply confused and since then just reading of those devices !

"When In Doubt, Refer Team-BHP" - for certain people / conditions, it may be a Postulate, else Theorem!

Looking at the background, Friends, if you could assist me to suggest me a phone:
-Android (min 2.2, chance of upgrade), Touch, 3G, Good memory and speed, Wifi +hotspot, Rear Cam 5MP Cam (preferably with front also), Flash, A-GPS, Document Editor (pptx, docx, xlsx), FM

With the new gadget, I presume my increased usage for internet browsing, GPS, emails, occasional photo.

thanks in advance,
Pranav

What's your budget?

Galaxy Ace and HTC Wildfire S are perfect fit for you.

They are both touch phones; both have Android OS, GPS, Wi-fi, 3G, 5MP camera; Galaxy Ace (800 MHz) is slightly faster than Wildfire S (600 MHz). Both are around 11k.

The Amazing Everyday TVC - Nokia Lumia 800 Smartphone - YouTube

Am a huge fan of Windows or rather MS and was eagerly waiting for capable WP7.5 from Nokia. But I must that am greatly disappointed with the Lumia 800, reasons:

1. No Front camera
2. No Notification LEDs.

Are these a deal breakers, for me yes :(

There is no special feature in this phone. Spec wise this doesn't beat my 2year old HTC HD2. Lumia looks like more of catching up effort from Nokia. They have to price this in the range Rs 16~19K for make any impact.

re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

Qn to you all:

Is there any retailer or an ecommerce site, over where I could get a N8 for around 18k or so. FK says, it's been permanently discontinued (which is not the case) and LB retails it for 22+, which is obcene. The cheapest i got, is in Adexmart (20.8k), but am skeptical over this site.

Responses would be very much appreciated.

Am based in bangalore.

Thanks,
Abhishek

The deal breaker for me is the price, most definitely.

Its on sale in the UK right now, for an astonishing (in a bad way) 399 £ , which is approx 32k rupees. I would rather buy an HTC Sensation with better specs in that case.
It should have been a 20k phone.

Try Devendra Telecom in Gandhi Bazaar. Google it - you will find the telephone number.

Does anyone have a discount coupon for Letsbuy? I am planning to pick up a Galaxy Y from there and a discount coupon would be useful. I also need to know when I need to apply the coupon during the payment process coz this is my first purchase on this site.
