Venu sir, get one of these.
iPod Touch 4G / 2G Capdase Car charger Dual USB | eBay

I have ordered the same around three months back, and it's working fine.
Even the one USB port charger is available.
Just use your phone's USB cable that has come alongwith the charger and you are good to go. It's plug and play. Don't order all the wired car chargers.

Just look out for the best deal on ebay.

Thanks Manish---looks good. So all I have to do is to plonk the main unit into the car charger slot, and use my usb cable to connect it to the phone, right?

By the way, the usb cable that comes with the Defy is not separate---it is a part of the normal charger: the plug has a usb socket into which the cable is slotted !! Neat thinking, eh?

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I tried it, very eye candy but no FM and Battery drains fast.

Yesterday I tried Ultimates Fav Pro, Simi Folder, Circle launcher widget, all are good where you can group applications, contacts on each widget. Very useful to organize. Try it out.

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I got an MM Bling 2 - A55 for my wife and rooted it . Does anybody know how to get USB Drivers for this phone? Cooked a ROM and trying to test it but no USB drivers is making it a pain. Drivers for A60 are available but not for the A55.
Any help appreciated.

Nice phone for the wife by the way!!

Yup, correct!!
Just plug the charger into the car's 12v outlet. The LED light on the charger will glow, indicating the power on and then connect the phone through the USB cable.
Yeah!! there's no separate USB cable.
Even my Wildfire's charger has this USB socket wherein the phone is connected through the wires at both end. Makes carrying the charger around very easy. I have not bought any extra cable, I just carry the same cable everywhere.

EDIT: Do remove the car charger from the 12v outlet, when car's not running. It continues to draw power even when the ignition is off.

It's the same thing. just that it has one USB port. I opted for two, because it can charge both my wife's and my wife's phone. And as i run GPS on my phone continously, so one port is occupied , therefore the 2nd port comes handy for others.

May be a basic level question, but what are the advantages of custom ROMS, and which custom ROM are you using?

Don't worry, we had a bitter experience of being stranded once on that count. We are a lot wiser now.

I'm using Cognition 1.07.
inspite it being based on the older KE7 Kernel which was renowned for having a ridiculously bad battery life. Cognition gives me a longer lasting charge than the stock samsung android OS with KE8 [which is what the phone came with]

apart from that i've got root permissions, my phone is overclockable to 1.504 GHz and its generally quicker than the stock OS.

so in a nutshell its faster, lasts longer on a charge, gives me more access to mess around and sounds cool too... Cognition

My friend has made a USB Jig to reset the Custom Kernel Counter to 0 so i've not even lost warranty. [EVIL LAUGH]

For those of you who want to buy car chargers, I had a capdase car charger which has to USB ports on it so it can charge 2 phones simultaneously.... well it Messed up the cigarette lighters on my car & my brothers car. so it's either a faulty peice, a faulty design or faulty Honda cigarette lighters!

ah sorry. LB is cheap and best for everything electronics as of now. I just meant don't buy sandisk etc popular models off ebay and suchlike. or even locally. as for verbatim, it harks back to old floppy disk days but i doubt it'd be getting counterfeited!

for what it matters, I just rechecked - they have transcend at the same price and I trust them more for memory cards!

btw, i bought the defy to root it and run CM7. The stock ROM was never even considered!!

bhai mere, once upon a time there was an excel sheet which did it all nicely. why bother with an app for this - it'll keep sitting in the background and keep syncing and draining battery!

Very naish. me likes.

has any DIY guru like ghpk taken apart either of these models and confirmed that it has a legitimate power moderation circuit inside it? I've seen similar looking chinese models in the market so just being devil's advocate before I spend again

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Great, bought the Verbatim one for 459, 8GB class 4 one with rcom coupon. Now waiting for both to arrive.

You didn't clarify on the rooting, are you saying not to root the phone so soon?

I guess for same reason - Alarm clocks, Notepads, Stickies, Calenders, games, (yawn), Navigation, teambhp and everything else has an app too!
- right on our fingertips.

(It doesn't sync, and can be 'closed')

Anywho, just shared incase someone would like to use.
