re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

While using GPS for navigation, I charge my LG Optimus One by plugging the phone into the USB port of our Fiat GP, using the USB cable .

Will charging this way cause any harm to my phone?

Time for some dumb questions:
a. Can you access recovery? Either stock or custom is okay.
b. In recovery, try wiping cache, then dalvik cache. reboot and aal should be well.

If you just cannot get into recovery (some phones have a weird mechanism or a stupid key which is tough to operate - so account for that), then get into the bootloader and flash a new ROM completely.

PS: Why unroot for the love of God?

@travel... - little point really. Move on! like the Fastrack ad!

why don't you check other brands at Online Shopping - Buy Mobile Phones, Cameras, Laptops @ Lowest Price - Letsbuy.com and you can even choose cash on delivery.
Theres a promo code floating around (rcomlb1) which would give you good discounts too.
Like Jabra Arrow becomes Rs.2,719 instead of 3199.

worst case the batteries life may be reduced by say 1-3 months. Other wise as long as you have juice in the phone when you want it, there is nothing wrong in charging by any means.

I carry my usb cable to charge whenever i am in a system. I am even searching for some cable that connects to my Aux in through the mini USB and by some magic means charges my phone while i listen to music from Phone.

My Jetta Aux is one of the fantastic ones i have ever used. The clarity of sound and the ability of the music system to just deliver the songs from my S2 as if i was listening from a CD is just too good for me to use it as one option to take calls while driving as well as listening to music.

So please feel free to charge your phone wherever you can.

If these are chinese one, i wont worry and buy them. The cost is very high though. I got some dirt cheap replacement batteries for my old 5D paying like 10 USD for 3. Each battery lasted me close to three years and usually had more juice than the original canon one.

The batteries in that link are priced very costly.

If I am not wrong, Incredibles S and Incredible 2 are different phones. Nice choice by the way, I too love my incredible s.

Turn on the GPS under settings. Your android phone should have Google maps installed by default. You will be familiar with it in no time. You can ask it give directions while travelling.
BTW, maps is not the only app that uses Gps. There are tons of apps out there which use your location, and provide services based on that.

Completely agreed. DX's spare battery's still doing the job 1.5 years down and now i couldn't make out canon from the chinese one!!

Well, under reasonably heavy usage, I get between 16-28 hours depending on the latest nightly ROM I am trying out. MIUI gave me 28 hours for instance. But none of the defy ROMs gave me like 37++ hours like our man is getting on the sensation!!
