Which is the most lag-free android phone in the market?. I am moving from my iPhone to android. Other requirements are > 4.5 inch screen and no budget constraints.

I too moved off from Apple to Android for now, giving the IP5 a miss.

In terms of speed with a stock ROM - it's the Galaxy Note 2 - I don't believe that there's anything faster than it. Quad core 1.6 GHz with 2 GB RAM and a 5.5" display that is indulgence. It comes with JB out of the box. The Galaxy S3 and HTC 1 X come next. The SGS3 has a 4.8" display and awaits a JB update. Both Samsungs have a micro SD slot should you choose to expand storage. IIRC the HTC does not. For better performance try custom ROMs.

I purchased a Note 2 last week and gave my S3 to my wife. She loves it after using a Nokia E72 for years.

PS - Try the Note 2, it is a really large phone "Phablet" as it is called and the size isn't to everyone's liking.

I just had a casual look sometime back, will checkout again. For now, just using its analog clock widget. From the videos I saw, sure looks promising. It can substitute for practically any widget out there!

Oh and by the way, got tempted and changed the DPI to 241 first and then 260, from the stock 320. I really like the smaller icons, won't be going back to 320 anytime soon now.

Hi
Galaxy Note 2 is simply an outstanding gadget, and a far more refined than than my Galaxy Note :-(.

But check out the price you stated again. I am sure Rs.36200/- is far too high, as it is available around Rs.35,000/-. Alternatively consider buying online at sulekha.com in the following link at Rs.34,500/- Enjoy.!

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Are there any good Android phones coming out in the next 2 months in the 25-30k budget? Have been using Nokia N79 since past 4 years.

Checked out the Sony Xperia S for 29k & Samsung S2 at 26k at Ezone. Prices seem a bit steep. Any chances of reduction in prices in next 2 months? Hope the Xperia S isn't discontinued now that the SL has been launched !

Samsung S2 does seem a bit dated now but its a tried & tested phone. I feel it may well be discontinued next year!

I had a Sony Ericsson T310 8 years ago when i was in college. The phone just stopped working one fine day so i'm a bit wary of Sony. Sister has been using HTC Wildfire S since more than a year, facing a few issues with the phone so HTC is a no-no for me.

What are the other options?

This looks good. Did you try this method? - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1842908

Look no further than the Nexus 4. Time will tell if LG maintains the US pricing or tries to go premium here. If you are okay with no warranty, we might get the 8GB version for 20-21k here in the next few months.

Lots of ifs and buts right now, better to wait till we get some concrete info on LG's plan.

Hope new update does justice to the capable hardware S3 has got. ICS is slowww in S3, for screen transitions, browser smoothness and all compared to my GNex.

I am however doubtful whether the Touchwiz equipped JB will perform as good as a stock JellyBean.

There is no tried & tested method in that thread. Probably lost steam once the a110 was launched.

Edit: There are posts in that thread stating that method on the first post doesn't work. Even the OP wasn't able to clear the queries.

Next 2 months? Nothing like a Google Nexus 4 then!

The stock android trumps any of the skinned androids anyday!
