Don't know why both my devices Running Ice cream Sandwich (v 4.04) are refusing this APP.
Checked with a friend running it on 5 inch, his device also refuses to install.

The issue I am facing is with English version Only, Hindi Version gives Install prompt.
My Cousin was facing the same issue on his Canvas 2. We uninstalled the Antivirus program and now its running fine. The antivirus was the culprit.

If you meant GPS tracking, I tried 'Glympse' and it is awesome.

You can watch the other person in real-time (a few seconds lag) with their speed and position. You can even watch it on your laptop.

In fact it was a surprise to my family on a car 350 kms away when I phoned them to inform them that they had missed a turn.
You can also catch the driver over-speeding!
(The internet connection has to be good and the mobile must be kept on charge with the GPS on).

I also tried 'Sygic-Family' but it was not as good.

Hi Harsh,
Thanks for the heads-up. Ordered one yesterday. I hope they give properly boxed one with untampered holograms.
I had ordered and cancelled Atrix2 due to SAR values. At 21K indeed it is a super deal. Hoping for the best now

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Any Titanium Backup experts here?

I was running Wajk MIUI 2.12.28 version on my Defy Plus MB526. When the update was released (3.1.27), I thought this is a good time to do a clean install.

So I backed up all user apps+data using TB Pro and wiped my phone. Upon flashing the new ROM, I restored everything easily.

HOWEVER, the notes that I had created in the Memo/Notes app are missing. How do I get them back? When I check in TB history, it shows zero backup for Notes.

Did you sync the notes to Gmail? If yes, then they would come back on syncing, else sorry sad state of affairs

If it is MIUI Notes then the folder in the SD card should be there for you to restore the data.

The MTK6577 processor is not in the same league of its competitors IMO

It HOGS battery and the phone gets hot fast!

Which competition you are talking about? BTW, the devices having this chipset are way cheaper than the S3 and Nexus 4 etc. You have to accept the fact and move ahead The upcoming MMX Canvas HD (A116)has the same processor.

Im talking in general about the MTK 6573, 6577 chipsets which are used by the SEA manufacturers.

I am not comparing them to a Scorpion or a Tegra processors.

A lot of phones under 10K in the Android market use these 65xx processors and the trouble in using these phones are pretty evident.

They are OK for the average joe with a couple of calls a day, but not for the heavy caller / app user.

The earlier version of MIUI did not have 'Sync to Google' option.

Ironically, it is now available in the new version, when I've already lost data

And the MIUI folder does not have backup of Notes data. Any other pointers?

EDIT - Very strange! I went through my entire TB backup folder. It has ~95 (x2) files, BUT no trace of Notes app!!

While making the backup did you selected the option "Ignore Active App" if yes, the app might have been active and been skipped.
Do two things, make a zip of entire titanium backup folder then keep it in PC, just in case anything over writes the backup.
try installing the app from playstore, then in titanium select restore data only.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Heads up for Galaxy S3 owners. The new CM 10.1 M1 experimental works like a charm. Have been using it over a week with the KT747 kernel (Pegasus Governor and Zen I/O). Excellent battery life and Performance with over 3.5 hours on screen time.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

My Atrix 2 had a fall the other day and now my LCD has something like a map of dead pixels in the centre of the screen ! This happened once before and it kind of healed itself, but this time it doesn't seem to be be going . Anyone else faced a similar kind of problem or aware of what this might be ? I tried a couple of dead pixel fixing apps, but no luck.

My phone is till under warranty, so I'm going to try my luck for a free replacement.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Got Micromax Ninja A89 for my wifey. Its a 4 inch dual core (Mediatech) processor phone with 512 MB RAM and ICS 4.0.0 out of the box. The display is good (800*480) and the phone is quite fast. Got it from a local shop for 6300/- with bill and warranty.
