Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I recently bought Karbonn A1+ for my dad. When I put the SIM card in Slot 1, it detected the SIM card but there was no signal. When I put two active SIM cards in Slot 1 & 2, then only it detects the network signal. I tried swapping multiple options, even if I put a dummy SIM card in Slot 2, it didn't work.

It needed two active SIM Cards to work. Is it the fault of the phone or this is the way it works ?

My wife uses a Karbon A1.
No such issue. It has just 1 SIM card and it works fine.

Looks like some issue with your piece.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Guys - any good, free (operative word being free) PC sync software. I basically want one to be able to make backups of my contacts, pictures, SMSes. Not very particular about music or apps etc.

Thanks for the headsup. Updated.

I'm not a big fan of the "Swype" like Flow - but it is good to have nonetheless.

My phone Explorer. Google for it else I'll post the link tomorrow. It's basically a 2 part software. An app on your phone and a Windows based software for the PC. Connects to an Android phone via USB cable or wifi or Bluetooth. Syncs your phone totally, plus you can also send sms or manage Apps, media etc while connected. Pretty cool.

Is the Flow part hats coded in the app? I love the current tap-and-type format of SwiftKey. Would not want to lose that! Will update to Flow if and only if i get to choose the typing style in the app.

Tap and type of course works as it used to be with improved prediction. That's how it has been with any swype-type keyboard, be it Swiftkey Flow, Android 4.2.x keyboard or any other.

Good to know that it's a 2-in-1 product. I was under the impression its a different product to compete with Swype. And the original SwiftKey will continue to co-exist in its current avatar.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I've been using Swiftkey Flow Beta for sometime now and have been very happy with it. Went ahead and bought Swiftkey 4 yesterday for Rs.50. Swype started lagging when I installed JB on my Atrix 2, but swiftkey runs great.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I wanted to download SwiftKey but while entering details of my new debit card I always got a server error.
Anyways downloaded the trial version for now, how do I turn on the feature where we can use gesture input continously without lifting our finger between words?

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

For a dual sim phone, can we have two whatsapp instances? Sounds impossible. Has anyone tried it?
