Re: Blackberry Phones and Services in India

You need either of the two.

- A Blackberry Enterprise server
- An MS Exchange server with OWA exposed to the internet OR an exposed IMAP server synced with your outlook or mail system.

Check with your office mail system administrator and he will guide you on how BB can be synced or NOT.

Re: Blackberry Phones and Services in India

Hey guys I'm facing a strange problem since yesterday evening. Whenever I change my dp on bbm, the new pic appears only on my profile but none of my contacts can see the new pic. It doesn't even appear in their recent updates. I also tried rebooting my phone but still the problem doesn't go! I also tried removing the pic and saving my profile but still my contacts can see that pic only. Help me guys!

Re: Blackberry Phones and Services in India

Hi guys.

I am planning to shift to Android from Blackberry.

Can I send all SMS to an email id in a single mail ? AFAIK, I can goto an individual SMS and "Forward as" an email but sending each SMS as email will be very lengthy process.

Any suggestions?

Edit: I have Blackberry Bold2 9700 running OS6.

The move to OS 6.0 for my Bold 2 is clearly form over function. Can't wait to swicth back to 5.0. How can I swap it back. My desktop BB software does not give me a list of options to choose from when I select the update tab.

You will have to download official OS 5.0 on your computer and have to downgrade with apploader or BBSAK.

You will have to uninstall all other installed OS before installing your preferred OS and do not forget to delete vendor.xml file.

Wait a day or 2. I thought the same thing when I had upgraded my Bold. But after 2-3 days of using I found it much better than 5. Also hopefully you have downloaded an official one and not a leaked version of 6?

That sounds a little complicated. Any other simpler route? Or should I just visit the next door BB Centre to do it for me. I could just reinstall the backup file once its back to 5.0 then.

I've been using the official update via the BB Desktop Software since 2 months now, and no, it really isnt worth wasting time with. I have been doing a hard reboot atleats twice a lday for the last 2- 3 weeks and have the phone freezing almost every now and then. If you must have noticed, the 6.0 OS interface also chews up the otherwise good battery life much faster.

I'm very surprised to hear that. The OS6 I was using never hung and I had to reboot maybe once a week sometimes even less. The battery also was probably triple of my 9900.

What version of the 6.0 are you running on your Bold 2.
The 6.0 interface is definitely more fancy and would use up more battery life over the comparatively bland interface of the 5.0 I'm quite amazed that the battery is lasting you longer with the 6.0 irrespective of the version.

I had also updated to OS 6 on 9700 but there were issues so i downgraded to OS5.

You can not compare the battery of 9700 & 9900 since 9900 is having 1Ghz processor, Better touch screen and Low Mhz battery than 9700.

BTW Which OS Version are you having on 9900?
