Re: The Tata Zica Hatchback (aka Kite)

Whoa. I would've never expected something like this from Tata. I still can't believe this is the successor of the indica. The exterior is nothing extraordinary, but it ain't no Manza. The interior looks like a nice place to be in but the center console looks like from the elite i20 to me.Overall a competent little hatchback from Tata but I think it is the Celerio's competition more than the Alto's. Hopefully they price it okay-ish knowing Tata.

84 bhp from petrol is decent power. But 3 cylinder engine? :banghead: Will have to wait for the reviews to know if it is refined enough.

Is there a diesel AMT ? From the media reports it doesn't look like, and that's a bummer :(

Renuka of ACI says this on twitter, not sure whether it'd be diesel or petrol:

I expect the price range to equal the existing indica ev2 or the base celerio diesel.

Petrol 3.5-3.75 and diesel 4.5-5 lakhs.

Car looks spacious for the small footprint outside. And nice contours on the seats. And thank god its black. Well appointed interiors for the segment it belongs to.

Yes, definitely the demister. Its the same in the new Land Rover Discovery Sport too. So, a family affair I suppose.

any indications whether the Bosch eClutch system has made it to the Zica? - this popped up as a rumour some time back.

Multidrive for diesel is interesting!! But instead of three modes for Zest / Bolt petrol, this gets two. Don't want to jinx this but I feel the 3-pot motor and its refinement might turn out to be the Achilles heel for Tata this time around! Fingers crossed.

Re: The Tata Zica Hatchback (aka Kite)

I have a great feeling of deja vù reading the engine specs and the kerb weight.
Yep, the old Figo. The diesel engine power and torque output as well as the kerb weight is so so old Figo like.

The front has a whiff of the Fiat Aegea and the rear is a combo of Brio and new Figo styling. But most importantly, after the Sumo Grande, Xenon and Nano this us the most fresh design to come out if Tata. Refreshing indeed.

They seem to have rectified the Zest/Bolt problem of close to nil storage space by giving enough cubbyholes and surprise of surprise. A dead pedal in a Tata car ( yeah, the Xenon also has one ).

Just waiting for the pricing And the ARAI figure for which the small engines are existing I guess

Re: The Tata Zica Hatchback (aka Kite)

Whatever I have seen so far has been impressive. Exterior looks appealing. Interior quality looks really good. Features are aplenty considering the segment. This looks like a sure shot winner if priced competitively.
It checks almost all my desired parameters.. Space, style, features, Good FE(expected). Only thing missing is ACC which I can't see in any of the pics. Not a deal breaker though.

What about the Orvm? Are they electrically adjustable and retractable?

Re: The Tata Zica Hatchback (aka Kite)

Whoa! look at those internal door knobs finished in chrome, the tight panel gaps and attention to detail will make even a VW hatch proud. This car reeks of refinement and finesse, at least in pictures. Hope, this is the beauty that will turn around Tata Motors for good. The interior space and packaging is just fantastic. Everything about the seats, the shape, contours, choice of soft soothing fabrics is so tastefully done. Body colored side AC vents add a touch of sportiness. This car should just sell, period.
