re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

Visited Nexa and some info shared by RM on possibilities of YBA as informed to them, though the final say will be from Maruti.

1. The YBA will be sold through Regular Maruti Suzuki Outlets.
2. Was told by Maruti personnel the variants will be in Petrol and Diesel
3. Petrol will be as in Ciaz while the diesel will come in 2 options- a la S Cross.
4. Diesel will get the DDiS 200 and DDiS320.
5. Diesel variant DDiS320 will only be in the top end AT variant - Could be priced above S Cross! - Makes sense?
6. Media drive - end Jan 2016

7, Ciaz will finally come to Nexa - speculated in March 2016
8. Ciaz will get the 1.6 MJD engine - speculated also in March'16 ( delayed from plan)

9. S Cross 2015 stocks of DDiS320 is exhausted, with discounts on certain variant
10. 2016 built cars will be available shortly, DDiS320 could be build only on order.
11. S Cross sales has picked up in December

12. Maruti has plans of localizing the 1.6 engine -( but then where will the Suzuki 1.5 diesel fit in?- maybe will be considered only for newly developed cars)

He may be talking about the international Vitara. No way this sub-4m car can be priced above SCross.

Does that mean Ciaz won't be available in regular showrooms? If yes, a sure recipe for its failure from its current numbers of 5K per month.

I guess the 1.6MJD Ciaz may go to NEXA, while the curret one will stay in regular showrooms. It has to be, IMO.

I like how well loaded the Nexa cars are and maintenance should be a breeze too.

It would be foolish not to wait for the YBA. Is it worth the wait?

If sold through regular Maruti dealership, wont it be a less premium product than the S cross.

That engine is far from launch - due to Suzuki not able to achieve the desired level of NVH characteristics. It is speculated that the in-house 1.5l diesel will be launched sometime in 2018. Until then, the 1.6 seems like the best bet for Suzuki.

Suzuki’s in-house 1.5-litre diesel engine postponed.

Steep learning curve has pushed back Suzuki’s first four-cylinder diesel to around 2018.

What he meant was the YBA in DDiS320 AT will be above S Cross DDiS200 mid variant!

The query on Ciaz was answered by yourself

Yes it should be worth the wait to at least check the prices as the launch is quite near.

I dont think it will become less premium or more premium based on whether it is in Nexa or the regular showroom. I feel that the Ciaz is more premium than the Baleno but Maruti seems to think otherwise. I guess they had to force fit Baleno into NEXA to ensure sales for the group

Great info there, to me all the variants look like winner already! Any information on the YBA DDIS320 AT with AWD? If MS does introduce such model then it will be a instant hit considering the market and competition!

re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

Excellent information. However, I cannot see YBA sitting above Scross and available in Maruti Showrooms and not NEXA?

If Suzuki localizes DDIS320, then its will be a giant step in beating out the competition.
Ciaz getting DDIS320 is big thumbs up.

Overall good news from Suzuki in 2016.

re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

The car looks impressive to me. Would be a Creta killer, for sure.
From what I have read from the other sources, the car will be named as Brezza according to the Maruti dealers. It just can not be priced above S cross. The discounts being offered on S cross just proves that Maruti failed to price S cross well.

re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

Maruti'S compact SUV shows its VDI badge - confirms that its sales will be through Regular Maruti dealers. Expect an aggressive pricing as Maruti anticipates a strong demand.

Ciaz will be traded off for the Vitara Brezza and will transition to Nexa - lower sales figures of December looks to confirm this. Will get the Maruti Suzuki badges off it.

Bad move for ciaz if the car is entirely moved to nexa. I hope only the 1.6 version will go to nexa. Otherwise, maruti itself - not the competition - will kill ciaz.

But Baleno and S cross are selling in good numbers being in NEXA. I think Ciaz qualifies for NEXA and IMHO it is not going to impact its sales.

If some varients of Ciaz are sold in regular showrooms and some in NEXA, it will confuse an average car buyer. Average car buyer is not as well informed as a BHPian. So he/she will wonder about MSIL's policy.

As per my prediction, Ciaz will be totally sold in Nexa or toally sold in regular dealerships.

re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

Maruti confirms the launch of its Compact SUV in Feb 2016.

1.The compact SUV’s bookings will commence right after launch and then the company will be shipping the cars to its dealers
2. Sold through regular dealers
3. Deliveries to begin in April 2016
4. Brezza is the name tag
5. Colors in offer could be similar to the International New Vitara - Dual tone?

re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

When i was in NEXA last week, the RM's confirmed that Vitara Brezza is going regular showroom way. Only Premium product which will be priced above S-Cross is Grand Vitara.
Also mentioned that 1.6 will not make it to Vitara Brezza and it is likely to come with 1.3 DDiS 200 90 bhp engine.
