re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

Facts
- Baleno 1.3 OTR = X
- Scross 1.3 without discounts = X+3L
- Scross with discounts = X + 3L - 1.5L = X+ 1.5L

So effectively, if the Breeza is to be placed between between the S-Cross and Baleno; it would end up having the same price as the S-Cross with discounts. S-Cross future is not going to change. If Maruti wants it to sell, it will have to continue the discounts. There will be no 2 ways about it.

If the Breeza comes with the 1.0 boosterjet, with 2L premium over the Baleno petrol 1.2, it will set the sales charts on fire like the Baleno. Diesel buyers will move away from Baleno and real fight will be between 1.20 Diesel and the Breeza as both will be priced within a range of less 1L.

They can do a 'revotron' by turbocharging the cheaper 1.2g series engine used in eeco to around 100bhp.

re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

S-Cross 1.6 had 1.8-2L discounts when I enquired a dealer at Chennai. They didn't give much on the 1.3 but around 40K I suppose when pushed.

This car coming under 4M length and having engines that qualify for tax benefits, should be priced competitively. Also that it comes to Maruti showrooms instead of Nexa should make the pricing attractive as well.

Delhi S-Cross Sigma on road is roughly just short of 9.5ish. One of the members recently bought one for 8.3ish that translates to a discount of 1.1-1.2ish on the base model.

For Delta, Zeta, Alpha; based on stock availability dealers are offering 1L cash and 40k exchange bonus and another 10k on the table when finalizing.

Discounts are based on stock availability. Base model sales would have been low and thus 1 lakh discount. Once dealers clear the stock, I doubt there would be 1.5 lakhs discount for 1.3 S cross. 1.6 would be built on order and it would have sad end like Kizashi unless MS localises the engine. Price different Baleno Alpha and S cross 1.3 Alpha is more than 3 lakhs and Maruti can price Vitara Brezza comfortably
Cheers

Vitara Brezza Top variant spied, Speculated to come in dual color exterior, like the International New Vitara!

The car sports projector headlamps, DRLs, side indicators integrated in the bumper and a large honeycomb air-dam. Apart from the tall bonnet, the square wheel-arches and high shoulder-line that runs parallel to the glasshouse adds to the aggressive look of the vehicle. From the earlier spyshots, we have an idea that the rear section will feature horizontally mounted wraparound tail-lamp clusters.

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

Though the new was in Nov 2015, this seem likely as S Cross will come in its 1.5 L Petrol variant in May 2016, ( ET news)

Maruti's Compact SUV is speculated to get a new 1.5L petrol engine first.

The 1.5-litre petrol engine is to be benefited with the CVT gearbox as well as the standard 5-speed MT and return 107bhp of power.

The YBA is coming with a new-range of petrol engines, the diesel will be the 1.3-litre 90bhp multisite itself.

Maruti S-Cross and Ciaz sedan are likely to get the same engine of 1.5-litre petrol on the new variants

This Ciaz face lift will introduce this variant and is likely to be retailed through Nexa.

Wonderful news! IMHO, even though K12 is a good engine, it's not suitable for Brezza. Just not enough power to pull the vehicle, at least for spirited drivers. Presuming Brezza uses the same low weight structure as in Baleno, 1.5L engine seems to be just what the doctor ordered.

Maruti dealerships have started sending teasers to their customers. Got this in an email from a dealership today.

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

The renderings are awesome and the news on 1.5 Petrol is worth drooling _

But what is the benefit of 1.5 Engine in a 4M compact vehicle? Then why not make a SUV competitor to Creta?

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

If the car looks anything like SRK's rendering, its gonna have a huge waiting period. The silhouette pic looks great too. However the teaser doesn't evoke the same interest for some reason. But, Maruti will have to play the price straight against the Ecosport or even try to keep the top variant below 10L ex showroom.

Good news on the 1.5L mated to a CVT; that'll provide a good spread for the customers too. A 1.2L petrol for the base & mid variants for a competitive starting price, a 1.3L 90 bhp diesel & a 1.5L petrol + Auto on the mid / top variants for those who want power + Auto.

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

I have decided to defer the scheduled delivery of the Creta A/T from February, hearing the news of the 1.5 mated to CVT in the Brezza

The Creta whilst being an overall good product, suffers from evident lack of features, given the price bracket, in the A/T variant

Let's see if the Brezza forces Hyundai to rework their strategy/pricing

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

That's a great news. Combination of the new 107 bhp petrol along with the 90 bhp diesel and the killer look, long waiting period seems inevitable. I think maruti will prices it aggressively as in the Baleno. It seems the Ecosport more than the Creta, will have to bear a dent.
