Re: The Maruti-Suzuki Ignis

Suzuki can seriously think of stretching the Ignis to 4.2 - 4.3m long, and bring a Creta competitor, IMO. The small dimensions are really hindering the style quotient of the car. If Ignis Petrol can come at the price range of 4.5L - 6.5L, this "Grand Ignis" avatar with a higher ground clearance can come in the 6.5L - 8.5L range considering a bigger engine, body and additional tax. A fully loaded AWD Petrol Auto version at 10L would be a dream come true.

Re: The Maruti-Suzuki Ignis

Maruti Suzuki will not launch these awesome cool features in Ignis for India!

Considering the pricing in India the positioning of the product, and most important the infrastructure the mentality of people and the roads we drive in we can enjoy these features only on videos!

Note : Ignis bookings will set the trend ( for MS) of being completely done online, customers being directed to the nearest NEXA!

Ignis is a great car with proven engine and I am sure Swift's handling prowess will flow in Ignis too... Seeing the images the low ground clearance could be an issue considering the Indian road conditions. If it is priced aggressively it will be a success.

It's a different platform compared to swift I believe. Being taller would take away some handling anyways. Ground clearance should be good enough. Images can be deceiving.

They should launch a matt black color. Looks like a tank in the spy images.

On a personal note, I like styling of Ignis till the start of rear quarter glass. Thereafter, I think, the stylists went for a break and boozed out. The rear is totally out of sync with the rest of the vehicle.

Re: The Maruti-Suzuki Ignis

Having ample time for its launch, the Ignis continues to be spied on test.

Quote:
The car is expected to be launched with the 1.0 litre Boosterjet three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine, developing around 110 hp. It is still unclear if the Ignis will be launched with a diesel engine as well or will it get one later.
Quote:
the test mule for a few kilometres and sensing our camera, the driver tried to evade us. The speed at which the Ignis managed to accelerate a few times suggested peppy acceleration for the little car. The engine could be paired to a five-speed manual unit but Maruti Suzuki has the AMT as well as CVT transmissions too in its kitty.

Re: The Maruti-Suzuki Ignis

I have recently noticed quite a few Ignis in Srilanka. So climate/terrain wise i dont think there is much difference.

Please, we can't call it compact SUV !! . It is at best a sporty looking hatch(compact hatch!!)

Unless it is imported from Japan. Hope you are not talking of the older Suzuki Ignis!

I think i pretty much saw the ignis we are talking about in this forum.

Reference : https://ikman.lk/en/ad/suzuki-hybrid...anuradhapura-1 Courtesy google search

Other point i wanted to mention is that there seem to be lot of push in Srilanka for Electric/Hybrids so the Ignis, Honda Wezel etc were pretty common on the road with Hybrid badge.

I also noticed cars like Nissan Leaf, Prius etc. more common than indian market

+1. The size from the rear as we see in the photographs is comparable to that of a Wagon-R & Stingray and might not really be worth called even as a Micro-SUV.

But, if anything on 4-wheels that has high ground clearance and AWD is to be called an SUV, then I stand corrected.

AFAIK, the 2016 ignis is launched only in Japan, and is yet to be launched in other countries.
