I have a feeling they will empty the command queue (if one exists, that is) once you stop the car's ignition. This much the Chinese programmers should have thought of.

Niggles such as music suddenly stopping are mostly caused due to poor memory management in our phones (and in this case the MG tab). I think that's what the issue here could be.

Thats an uniquely amazing gesture. Yes the waiting game to get your desired car is surely anxious, yet soothing when you know there is some incentive in he helm! Good marketing strategy!

Do you mean more than all the other glasses standard on the cars would?

No it is not particular to a dealer. I had shared the snapshot of the email that I had received from MG a couple of pages back as well.

Hi does anyone know if the DCT in the Hector is a dry clutch one (like the older octavia or the new venue) or a wet clutch (like the new Octavia)?

Dry clutch DCTs are notorious for their failure rates afaik

It's supposedly a dry clutch DCT. Same goes for it's competitor, the Seltos.

Where does it say that the Sunroof is weak? Have reviews made such claims?

I've only read about squeaks. Squeaking noise can't really be attributed to the entire fitting being 'weak'.

Any hint when the bookings can reopen ?
I learnt from an SA that the 2020 models will be all BS6, with an incremental cost.

Re: MG India's first SUV named Hector. Edit: Launched @ 12.18L

Hectors are now quite a common sight where I work. Saw a black one very close in traffic today. Was right in front of me.

It had Audi like incremental LED turn indicators and they looked fab in action. Although I feel the sweep delay shoukd be a bit lower. It was a bit too slow to progress IMO.

What I also noticed though was, the LED brake lights - 2 side pieces and the HMSL up top - didn't work properly as a team. There was a miniscule time difference in them going out when brakes were released. So the right one went out, then the left and then the HMSL.

Just fraction of a second difference. But it was noticeable and I got to see it for good 5 minutes. Unfortunately I was alone and couldn't shoot a video of this.

With all the blingy lights at back - this malfunction really looked quite disappointing. Irritated me after a while in fact!

Re: MG India's first SUV named Hector. Edit: Launched @ 12.18L

Keeping a prospective buyer waiting for 5-6 months by a new brand is not a good sign, MG should speed up its production to avoid going the LML way who could not manage their supply against demand.

Wow. Thats a lot of patience requirement. I can never wait more than a week!

However, I feel there will be cancellations. Those going for Seltos, Creta will cancel. Those getting good deals on XUV, Harrier will cancel and those not ready to wait so long will cancel too. In another month or so I think you'll get a call saying your car will be available in November.

Re: MG India's first SUV named Hector. Edit: Launched @ 12.18L

I think it's fine for MG to do a limited production run considering their capabilities and sell out everything as they roll out. The ones who really want it, may wait, they did for Ecosport, XUV and even Kwid.

I saw one on the road, the proportions felt a bit off, too tall for its width - perhaps the rear bumper extension gives it that look.

MG should sue this fraud Manish to the full extent of the law. A lot of new cars face unfair criticism because they just can't compete and take to social media to do such mischief.

Does anyone know the performance timings of the hector petrol dct? Kia is about 9.7s for the gtline manual I believe.
