Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My 2010 fiat grand punto 1.3mjd 75bhp delivering this on Noida-Greater Noida expressway.
What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?-img_20150726_213531_1437992522767_1437994028354.jpg

This run was purely for the sake of checking its highest figure, actually its half of this.

Observations in my vento 1.6 tdi during to and fro trip between villupuram and Coimbatore. 760 kms totally of which 60 kms in B2B traffic , 20 kms village roads , about 20 min idling and the remainder butter smooth 6 and 4 lanes with 2 lane roads interspersed for about 50 kms with moderate traffic( Saturday evening)
The to journey : highway speeds 95 -99 kmph ( never crossed 100) till Salem and 100- 105 kmph till Coimbatore outskirts. Very sedate drive (gentle acceleration )
The return journey :
105 kmph till Salem and 110 kmph ( almost constant speed) till villupuram (with quick acceleration after braking)City drive and speeds were same for both journeys.
The respective mileage for to and fro are 21.5 and 21.5 kmpl( noted at end of each trip).
Tankful calculations were 20.3 kmpl.
Overall running times were , 6 and 5.5 hours respectively.
Highway running times were 4.5 and 3.75 hours respectively.
I couldn't appreciate any overall mileage difference between driving at 95 -100 kmph and 100-105 kmph. The fluctuations in digital speedometer due to difference of pressure on accelerator were + or - 2 to 3 kmph.
On the other hand, speeds of 70 to 80 kmph gave mid figure of 27.3 kmpl over a 75 km trip in 4 lane highway.
So,I arrived at the following conclusions.
1. Speeds of 90 - 95 kmph warranted frequent braking( mainly to give way to cars) ,gearshifts which decreased FE.
2. Speeds of 120 kmph and above warranted even more frequent brakings and hit hard on FE.
3. Constant speeds of 100 to 105 kmph with coasting Gave excellent economy with smooth ride and also was less tiresome along with good average speeds and hence pretty decent running time.

My swift VDI trim has been modestly good in mileage terms. Seen it offer 29kmpl when driven at sedate 80 and 25kmpl with speeds between 90 to 120. Purely highway and speeds were when in total view of road with sparse traffic.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

2007 Honda Odyssey (2.4L, gasoline, CVT, 7 seater) - 105000km on the odo - delivering 12 - 13 kpl average fuel efficiency.

My office commute per day comes to 80 km and most of it is through rural roads with low speeds (50 - 60 kph) and less traffic / signals. I do try to be economical with the pedal inputs and aircon usage (set at 25 degrees, blower speed at 1).

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Polo GT-TSI - Project Run specifically to catch a glimpse of a magical figure. Windows up, A/c Off, minimal throttle inputs, minimal braking and maximum coasting in the left most lane (Got bored to push further!)
Real world cruising gives 18-20 kmpl with sedate driving, city crawls make the figure drop to 9 kmpl

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Car- Swift
Model- Vxi 1.3
year-2008

Made a 550 km trip on last weekend and my ride gave a 15.6 kmpl[which I hope is a decent figure] on the Highway with 60-70% Highway cruising @ 80-100 kmph with occasional Sprints exceeding 120 kmph [not stating them explicitly fearing a Mods' Reprimand ] which I could not resist .

Next time, I'd see that the speed will be maintained in a FE way to see the '16 kmpl' mark

Those are mind boggling numbers !

Every time I come across these kind of numbers, I just curse myself for not buying the DDiS instead of a G-series.

Having said that, a smile dangles on my face post every drive regardless of the duration- Manifestation of " Live to Drive"

I own a Hyundai Xcent SX(O) Petrol. On bumper to bumper city traffic, I get an average of about 9-10 kmpl. In case of 100+ highway, it easily jumps up to 15kmpl.

I own a 2014 Fluidic Verna SX CRDi Diesel.

City (bumper to bumper) - 12 kmpl
City (regular) - 14 kmpl
Highways (100-110) - 22 kmpl
Highways (120+) - 19 kmpl
Highways (140-160) - 18-17 kmpl (tested for a short sprint only)

All figures with AC on 100% of the time, Bengaluru.

Thanks mate. I am very sure all swift owners will be happy with the mileage and drive comfort.
Any way it is always not so high when you get into highways which are 2 way or cluttered.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Fiat Punto 75Hp mileage update.

Got the tyres changed a month back and the mileage in Pune City has been 15.5-16 kmpl. City Mileage before the tyre change was around 14Kmpl.

Not got the chance to head out on the Highway yet.

Renualt Duster AWD is just giving me about 12.5kmpl in Bangalore rush hour traffic (my commute is particularly bad - just drive 40kms in 3 hrs)..

2014 Tata Nano LX

It is kinda disheartening to see that even a XUV gets 11kmpl in the city, while my Xcent gives me only 9-10kmpl :-(
