Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Sold my 1.07L kms run 2011 Indica Vista QDJ Aura ABS for 1.8L during Dec'23 to Mahindra first choice. It had a lot of battle scars & bruises but the engine, clutch (overhauled at 1L kms) & tyres (replaced at 85k) were in great condition. It had after market Blaupunkt Newyork 750 touchscreen unit with integrated rear cam.

I am from Chennai. I posted in Carwale and also in Team-BHP classifieds couple of weeks ago.

My preference was to find an individual buyer and get the RC transfer done asap.

Got messages from Cars24 (though i didn't post there) where they offered in the range of 2.87L to 3.17L. I didn't opt for their free assessment.

I got a lead from Team-BHP classifieds as well, but the buyer went for a new car later.

The Honda showroom (plan to buy City CVT) offered 3.5L.
Four used car dealers contacted me, pitted one against the other, and finally i went with one i felt was good based on ratings on Google, though his offer was 2nd highest. The highest one was 3.8L but I was not able to find any details of this dealer in Google apart from the visiting card he shared, hence dropped it.

Regarding specific documents - they give a Delivery note in which it is mentioned that they take full responsibility of the car till it gets sold.

All this happened within last Friday and Saturday, with handover and amount transfer on Sunday.

Rest, I have to trust them to keep the car safe till it finds a buyer.

  • Bodyline is fine too except some surface scratches from parking/ B2B traffic, etc.
  • Tyres are 6+ years old though
  • Only driven by me/ immediate family so clutch, brakes, interior, etc. are in excellent condition
  • No aftermarket add-ons

Is 1.7 a good price?

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

I am looking to buy a BMW 330 Petrol I or LI in Delhi.
I have 2 options:
1. 330i April 2022: 15000 on Odo (Extremely well maintained) HR registration. Warranty ending on April 2024. Owner bought it for 61L
2. 330LI April 2022: 9000 on Odo (Extremely well maintained) HR registration. Warranty ending on April 2024. Owner bought it for 64L.

Can the experts please suggest what would be the right price to buy either of these for?

Yes, we are BHPians.

By the way, your Ignis is manual or automatic? That will help members in suggesting the asking price.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hi,

I'm looking at a used BMW X5 30d DPE. It's a 2015 model, driven for 80K kms, 5 seater, single owner, maintained at BMW service centers all the time. Have checked the service records for every year and went through every line, and no major accidents, just a couple of bumpers and one door painted in a minor fender-bender once about 3 years ago.

Have test driven the car twice - once within the city at peak traffic and also another time for 30 kms on the highway - the engine/gearbox is smooth and suspension etc were fine and everything looked fine.

Have gone through the used car checklist and all looks fine. The car is being thoroughly by the BMW service center as well, before I go for it.

Orange Book Value lists the price to buy from a dealer at 32.7L to 34.8L. Is this a fair price in Bangalore?

That is 7 series territory asking price, a 2015 x5 with 20k on the odo sold for 32 in Gujarat. If you have to get that example anything between 25-29 is a good condition based price.

Thanks @Yuvuz, this was very useful in my negotiations. I did a thorough check at BMW Deutsche Motoren and found the below issues:
  1. Air compressor for Rear Air suspension needs fixing - about Rs. 1.2L including parts and labor. Dealer's agreed to fix it and parts are ordered.
  2. Transmission and Engine mount are worn off and will need a change sometime in the next year. The quote is about Rs. 1.8L for fixing this and Deutsche Motoren has provided a discount on this from the original Rs. 2.4 - I'm going to do this on my own, to get the vehicle in pristine condition. This also includes a few sensors as well.
I was able to reduce the price from Rs. 34L to Rs. 29 thanks to your input and I'm going ahead with the vehicle. BLR prices are higher than Gujarat or rest of the country, so I feel this is ok. I see similar mileage vehicles being listed at Rs. 42L + in BLR and in arguably worser condition. There were 2 other buyers entering the fray and I didn't want to miss out on a well maintained vehicle.

Back in 2020, we had got our Innova Crysta evaluated from them, the website gave a quote of 15-17L, but they said 12L after the evaluation, and then in the end they got up to 13L. We said no to their offer, and still have the car with us.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Guys,
Honda Amaze 2019 registered Diesel v CVT
32k kms.
Whats the ideal price today?
Dealer is offering at 7.9L.
Car is not eligible for Honda's anytime warranty, however dealer is willing to offer carwale's 1 year warranty which can be availed at any honda service centre pan India.
