In my view, a car of this sort would typically list for ~3.6-3.7 on something like a Spinny/Cars24 in the Mumbai-Pune market. Considering you've just replaced the battery, tyres, ECU, etc., it's more likely to be at the higher end of that range.

Considering the margins dealers typically have; I think 3.15 is a good price. You can get ~15-20k more by selling it to an end-consumer.

I would say 2 lakh rupees would be a fair value for a Ford Figo '10 model. Put it out for 2.5 and see where you land up

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

I am planning to acquire a Tucson. It is a 2018 GL 2WD Diesel 2nd owner 153000 km piece. The owner iwas asking for 12 L, lowered to 11 L after negotiation.

The owner says that the car was under warranty till March 23 and all repairs could be done when required, without a need for any penny-pinching.

I am in a dilemma. Is 153000 km too much? Or does it not matter much?

Also, which could be this warranty that was in force for five years and some 140000 km?

Regarding the price, the owner should be pushed further?

Can I request someone to throw some light on the situation, pl?

P.S I am yet to see the car in person.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Visited a Cars24 hub in Delhi.

Took a test drive of the following two cars:

1. Maruti Ignis Alpha AMT Second owner Dec 2017 63000 kms 4.9L
2. Tata Tiago XZA AMT Petrol First owner May 2019 54000 kms 4.96L

Is the asking price high? Ignis top model used to retail for ~Rs.8L OTR in 2018. Tata Tiago XZA AMT 2019 OTR was Rs.6.42L.

Thanks.

The car is driven more than 80 kms a day for last five years. I would stay away from it. You’re better off buying a 3 year old low run Creta

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hi All

This is my first post on this great forum.

Which is a better automatic car to buy at the SAME price?

Brio AT / 26,000km / Dec 2018
Santro AMT / 8,500km / Sep 2020

Santro has all the bells and whistles, which I would like. I really like this car.
But I understand the Brio is extremely reliable due to the TC gearbox, so might be a stress-free purchase.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

* Model - Audi A3
* Variant - 35TDI Premium Plus Sunroof
* Year of Model - 2015
* Owner - Second Owner
* Kilometers - 58715
* Price - 15.50L

Is this the right price for A3? Before even pinging this guy want to see if the price makes sense.

One point you may have to consider here is that the Brio may need a replacement of tyres and battery if it's not done already as these are typically replaced at around the 5-year mark. So you may need to budget for an additional 25k there.

Inflated for sure. But depends on which market you are shopping. In Kolkata market, this is super inflated. In Bangalore, maybe slightly overpriced.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

I need a decent and reliable used Automatic (not AMT) under 4-6 L budget. I am looking at Honda Jazz, VW Polo, Tata Altroz. Not going for Maruti, Hyundai or badge shared Toyotas.
Can someone provide any leads? I would prefer a Honda Jazz CVT model 2016 and newer

How risky is it to explore the Delhi NCR unorganised used car market. Used car prices on Spinny, Cars24, OLX Autos are very inflated?

Unorganized markets are risky, and you have to do your own research dealing with them. It is mostly luck. Especially Karol Bagh. There is a high chance of getting ripped off. Same is true in Kolkata (another popular destination for cheap used cars).

In Kolkata, unorganized sector is selling cars that are rusted, having engine issues, and repainted from bonnet to dicky. I was surprised that one of the newly stocked cars the seller claimed was 100% original paint was wet (with freshly applied paint!), when I touched it was still having paint that wasn't dried properly

Olx Autos in my experience doesn't follow the standards of Spinny/Cars24, you are still dealing with independent dealers who bought the Olx Autos badge. Cars24 is a notch below Spinny, they don't have high standards but offer warranty and assurance.

Spinny is the best. I know several people who had good experience with them. But here's the thing, do you really want to pay 10% above market price for pain free experience? Worth it?

It is generally known that automatics are more expensive to maintain. There's a pretty good chance that unorganized sector will hide transmission problems (intermittent issues not visible at first), and you are stuck with a lemon. If you are still inclined to buy from dealers, both Spinny and Cars24 sell more or less mechanically sound cars with 1 year engine and transmission warranty. Spinny for peace of mind (and highest pocket pinch). Cars24 for affordability, but condition of cars is not generally as good as Spinny (bad condition tires, insurance failed cars, and cars are missing spare key). I'm personally biased towards Spinny after checking out the cars at their showroom. They are not liars, quality is the best (tyre condition is good usually, insurance is not expired, and spare key available), but pricing is the absolute worst.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Advise needed:

Car: XUV700 AX7L D AT
Asking price: 26.5Lacs
Purchase date: Q1 2023
Kms done: ~4K
Location: Udaipur, RJ

Some accessories worth 15k + extended warranty for 4th & 5th year included.

Does this seem like a good deal? It's essentially ~3.5 Lacs discount with no waiting period.
