Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

I have a 2012 Ritz Vxi that has completed 73000kms. Almost all panels are repainted/replaced due to various accidents/fender benders. During the last service, I was advised that suspension might need work. What should I realistically expect for this?
Spinny online estimate - 2.5L, Cars 24 online estimate - 2.17L. One used car dealer offered 2.3L.

Sold mine to Spinny. It was a ZXI with 50K on ODO, with moderate dings and dents for 3.3L. My car had a major steering work that would've costed me 30K. So 3.3L was a good deal. I think you're getting a decent one for your VXI.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Would it make sense to buy a ford for ~6L? Considering the car will be kept for a long time. Would spares and maintenance be a trouble?

What is a good price to sell my 2018 Skoda Octavia VRS 230

Hey Folks,

I might be relocating internationally soon, and unfortunately, I have no one in my family or chaddi buddys that I can pass on my treasured 2018 Skoda Octavia VRS 230. That brings me to this thread. What would an enthusiast pay for my baby?

Background on the car:

Car was bought in July 2018 in Gurgaon. Car is currently in Mumbai and has done close to 37K Kms. Was a weekend drive till 2020 and I had covered less than 12K Kms till then. Since then, partially due to COVID's after effects, the car has been on a couple of highway trips to HYD, one to BLR, one to Bhopal and several to Pune. From around mid 2021, the car has been a daily drive to work in Mumbai traffic (about 14 Kms a day on average).

Car has been maintained in a very good condition. Has had a full body PPF + Ceramic coating work done in Nov 2021. In June 2022, had a minor incident in which the front bumper and the bonnet got dinged. Thankfully, no other mechanical damage at all, and car got restored at Mody Skoda workshop.

Car is fully stock. It has 6 yrs extended warranty and 6 yrs annual maintenance pre paid for. Runs on Michelin PS4 rubber (30K plus Kms) and is due for fresh shoes.

Question:
I am struggling to figure out what the right price to sell the car is. Online evaluations make no sense. And other posts for a similar VRS 230s from 2017 - 2019 are at about 30L to 35L range. Just posted on TBHP Classifieds on Friday. Haven't posted on OLX or other platforms yet.
I am not for haggling too much, and the one prospective buyer who had a look last weekend seemed to imply that the I was quoting too high a price at 32L. Considering the nearest thing in performance will cost north of 60L, and a 4 yr used Camry Hybrid is being posted for at 36L, I feel the ask is reasonable. What say?

Hi skdking. I didn't go for the CRV so I can't really help you with that.
I went for a new Jeep Compas diesel manual and after the ownership of six months and 4000 kms I am happy with my decision.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Getting a genuine 2nd owner Honda civic 2019 petrol VX with 19k on the odo from a known. He moved it from corporate to individual - got this verified. Also got the car inspected at HONDA service. They were more than happy to go through my checklist. Final deal closed at 15 lakhs.

Is it a good buy? Upgrading from a 2015 Honda City SV MT.

Yup. I’m a fan of sedans and the NA Ivtec engine is also a gem! It’s very reliable and fun to drive
Looking forward to get the civic soon!

I think this is a very good price. I paid slightly more than this when I picked up my 2WD 2021 GLS Tucson which had run 7K. In fact I had to pay for extended warranty in addition.

Of course, mine was KA registered and hence was subject to the 'Bangalore premium'.

Letting go off this beauty hurts. Have you not got your car evaluated by Cars24 or Spinny? The price they offer can serve as a reference by adding some additional amount to it & will also work as a tool/document to keep low ballers away.

Thanks! Have checked on Spinny, however, the difference between expected and that quoted by Spinny is quite large. Hence the query in the forum.

Considering its a sellers market currently and applying standard depreciation of automobiles you may expect 50-60% of On-road price paid in 2018 else in normal days it would have been between 35-50% depending on state of vehicle.

I guess the Haryana OTR for 2018 VRS was around ~30L so fair value of car on all portals will not be more than 16-17L. To be honest expecting more than the purchase price for a 5 year old vehicle seem to be a moon-shot

However, for enthusiast vehicles like VRS, if you find the right buyer who has his heart set on such a vehicle then any price is justified. Hope you find the right owner for your beauty.

Cheers!

There are two vRS for sale in Mumbai on carwale.com, the 2017 one is listed at 28 and the 2019 one at 35. The normal depreciation doesn't apply here, your ask of 27 is reasonable. I'm not saying the sale will happen at those prices, but hold out for a higher price.

The luxury badges don't offer this kind of performance at this price(resale), most are lower variants that look and feel cheap, unlike the vRS.
