A 10 year old car will come with its own set of issues. Rust, suspension, hoses, rims, tyres, clutch, ball joints are some of the critical issues that need looking into. The door beadings might need to be replaced.

The Indica NA diesel and petrol were lethargic due to its sheer weight but the 1.4 Turbo diesel was much better. I had driven 1.65L kms on it and have done 600+ kms on a tankful.

On a side note, you could look at a new Tiago too if you don't mind the monthly EMIs. My friend picked up the Altroz NA Petrol for around 9L and with a 2L down payment, has an EMI around 11K. The Tiago is definitely going to be much lower.

A 1L down payment and a monthly EMI of 6-7K, you have a new car with modern interiors, significant warranty (3-5 years), 4 star rated and a more trouble-free experience.

What would be the right price to pay for a Delhi registered 85k km run 2013 VW Jetta Comfortline Manual? The car will be transferred to Gujarat.

Service history is available. Tyres and exterior work requires attention.

My parents used an Indica V2 Turbo Diesel with the 1.4 litre engine, for 8 full years (2006-2014) and my Dad (who always self-drives), was always extremely happy with it. More than adequate power to overtake on the highways and hills. Very torquey engine to manage city traffic in first and second gear. Big glass area with good visibility. Comfortable and spacious enough for two people and their normal luggage.
We upgraded the car’s seats and upholstery mid life. And its tyres to fatter ones along with some nice Lenso alloys. (At the 4 year mark) And it served very well indeed for another 4 years. Yes there was a diesel engine clatter with that generation of engines but with decent sound damping that was also manageable.

It was a fantastic car. The things I have done with it, even go off-road, wade in knee-deep water. Never let me down as far as I can remember. I sold it for a decent price and picked up the Vista shortly after. Crossed 2L kms on the Vista and have had a few issues (mostly my doing by going through rough terrain and slush day in and day out). But still a worthy car.

Not more than 2 lakhs if it is a diesel. About 3 lakhs for a petrol version.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hello,

We're looking to sell our reliable 2012 F30 BMW 320d and would love some advice on pricing.

- We're the second owners and car is under utilised and was sparingly used with regular running. 41,xxx kms.
- It's been recently serviced and has been switched over to tubeless about 2k kms ago.
- Having a hard time pricing it because all other cars have either run a lot of kms or are newer year models.

Based on some research, I've seen that the average kms these cars have run before being sold is 88k kms and average year for these is 2013 and the average asking price is 15L.

How do I price this and what can I realistically expect?

Thanks.

Picked this up finally. Only issue is rattles and squeaks from dashboard. Something that was non-existent on my Ritz. What can fix this? Will be taking it through a thorough detailing soon.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

We recently picked up a 2017 Honda City ZX iDTEC for my cousin, who replaced his 2015 Celerio AMT with this one, for Rs.8.4L from an individual, who was upgrading to Seltos D AT and ran 72k Kms when we picked it up.

And, the same cousin had sold off his 2015 Celerio AMT for Rs.3.3L to Spinny and ran 76k Kms before selling it off.

BTW, how much I can expect if we sell off the Jan 2022 manufactured VW Taigun 1L TSI Topline MT? The car has run 28k Kms and was bought for Rs.18.4L and VW guys had offered us Rs.15.3L if we sell it off immediately.

The reason for selling off this vehicle is this car is pinching our pockets hard as it gives not more than 10 Kmpl in city despite the car is being driven sedately and our daily usage is more than 50 Kms a day, hence we are planning to replace it with Diesel AT or Hybrid.

But, the Spinny guys had offered me Rs.13.5L, which is too low than what I had expected.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

I have a 15K KMS on odo, 2021 Jeep Compass, Petrol Model S DCT for sale at INR 26.5L in KA state. Given that new ones with all discounts are at around INR 33.25L OTR, is that fair enough pricing? I went with 20% depreciation for year 1 and typical usage.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hey,

What would be a good price for a 2012 Honda City V AT with 90k on the odo? Single owner. Do note that I am in Chennai and from what I've seen the used cars here are much more expensive than Maharashtra/Delhi. Thanks!

Do entertain this weird approach.

Assuming that you’re buying directly from the owner, check Spinny prices for a similar car. Deduct 1.2L to 1.5L on that based on usage. 1.5L in your case since it’s a 90K run car. Some expenses will show up in the near future.

I say this because me and my friend just sold our cars to Spinny. And I bought a car from my office colleague based on the quotation he got from them.

I am from Bangalore, so I would have started from -1.8L for a similar car.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hi everyone,

A colleague of mine is moving abroad. He wants to sell his 2022 Volkswagen Taigun. Just need to get an idea around what price he should expect for the car. Below are the car details;

Variant - Topline 1.0 TSI MT
Color - Red
ODO - 8,600km
Year - 2022 (Manufactured in Jan 2022, Registered in Mid Feb).
Warranty - 4+1 extended
Insurance - valid Upto 2024 (Zero dep with consumables)
Location - Chennai (TN registered)
On road price (including fancy number) - 18.6.

Please suggest the right price he can expect.

Thank you in advance.
