Even I had a choice of either getting Philips Rally 100/90W bulbs or Hella 100/90W but chose to stick to Philips.

BTW, No such thing of warranty.

I guess you meant 130/100W setup.

This setup will almost fry the reflectors. Beware!

Worried how the oncoming users would be with this setup.

Great. Good news.

Awaiting the review.

My Swift has done 42k kms in just last 9 months. Ofcourse I agree - except to the bathroom, I take that car to literally everywhere I go

I am thinking of getting the cabin light changed from Yellow to white with slightly brighter output. Not touching the central console and instrumentation console lights. I keep that as OEM!
Let me know when you are free. Let's do the next DIY thing together.

Just sent the car for 40K service @Sai Service.

No issues reported just regular jobs put down in the owners manual.

Hope I don't loose warranty as i have overridden the car by 3218 kms (43218 kms). The manager was laughing looking at the odometer reading w.r.t time since purchase.

Had contacted my SA there a month ago when it was reading 40029 kms but due to work commitments couldn't let the car off for a day.

Shall update with the service costs after I get the car at 16:00.

Got the car back at 15:00 post the 40K service.

The service manager was thrilled to drive the car and see how good it feels. He says it feels and drives just like it was just delivered new.

Since I was in a hurry to reach work, I'll be visiting the ASC to pay the amount and collect the bill.

No extra jobs, just regular stuff and all seem to be in good condition as per the Manager. Thanked the SA and Manager and left from there.

DIY Install: LED boot lights for my Swift ZDi

UPDATE: Boot Light LED Upgrade

After upgrading the cabin light to LED, next in line was the boot light that was too dim for being of any use.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/modifi...uti-swift.html

Went shopping locally and got a pair of these LED for ₹68.

There is a marked improvement in the illumination and is a direct fit. Initially I was thinking if this would be a bigger sized one and may not fit in the casing but to my relief it fit well.

A few pictures that should do the talking now.

The pair of LED's:

A cheap and minor upgrade that makes life easier when in need at night times during emergency.

Nice upgrade Anurag. I was contemplating of doing a little more extensive DIY on the same lines for my Swift VDi which involves cutting the marked dead slot for this light, purchasing spare light from MASS and fitting it. However, I am unsure if Maruti have provided the slot/wiring option on VDi for the same. The big question is whether wiring harness in Vdi vs ZDi model is different or not. If it is the same, its would be a very easy plug and play task. Else, I might not be interested in altering the stock wiring.

Regards

Parts should be available easily at MGP store. Will put in the part numbers here too.

If you can give me a few days time I'll explore the VDi and see for a solution.

40K Bill Update

Current odometer reading:
The story of a Blue Streak a.k.a Maruti Swift ZDi (Torque Blue). 1,20,000 km up & now sold-1.-kms.jpg

Here is the attached 40K service bill:

As usual nothing much to update as the car is clocking miles without any hiccups (Touchwood!).

Have they used semi synthetic oil Anurag? The cost is 560/litre so i think it is indeed semi synthetic. Are the gear oil, coolant and brake fluid change intervals just 20k? If yes, then it is too early and i do not know why Maruti is being so cautious. All these 3 changes are compulsory or you opted for them.

A 7700 bill for a 40k service with semi synthetic oil is quiet expensive and almost touching VW service bills. 45k service for Polo/Vento with fully synthetic oils costs around 8.5-9k.

I do not think it needs mentioning but you car looks fresh out of the showroom and the way you clock miles leaves me shocked. Very detailed thread.

Yes these are compulsory at even 10k intervals-20k,40k,60 and so on.

I didn't know VW at 40k costed only 8-9k,my Polo's 15k service cost me around 11k.

Thanks, so we have to comply with it to keep warranty intact.

11k at first servicing is surprising. Go through my thread and 15k service for my Vento costed just 8600-8700.
11-12k bills are made with alignment, balancing and stupid add ons like UV treatments etc.

SA says the oil is Synthetic but the rates seem to be corresponding to Semi-synthetic.

Intervals:

Every 10K - Air filter, cabin air filter, engine oil and engine oil filter.

Every 20K - All changes from 10K kms + coolant and brake fluid

Every 40K - All changes from 20K + transmission fluid.

Earlier MASS used to change the transmission fluid every 20K kms but it has now being extended to every 40K kms.

Thanks for correcting me Anurag. I was under the impression that these are mandatory every 20k.
