same date, same dealer/location, same experience

tried mahindra helpline but same response

I am of the view that M&M loves to keep things a secret, first they did a kaun banega car-oadpati show with us

Now it's "big boss" and we all are waiting for it's adesh :

Have left all hopes, have told my 4 year old that xuv uncle does not want our car to get wet so they will give us the new car post monsoon

Just called Mahindra customer care. As per them them the delivery date would be communicated by first week of May.

I admit that I may have faced few of those niggles personally but all of them got resolved by visiting the service center once or may be twice. I again want to highlight based on my interactions, that Mahindra is very proactive and is working swiftly. Also the fact that they are NIGGLES and not major defects should also be kept in mind while deciding.
Regarding the apprehensions about the electronics I have never faced an issue with ABS, ESP, Hill Hold, Hill Decent, cruse control, start/stop, etc. They all get activated when intended without a fail. the engine is good, the gearbox is ok, clutch is fine, breaks do their duty perfectly, handling is car like, suspension is ok, the HU sounds fine, the seats are comfortable for 5.
The glass is nearly full, so why think its a bit empty
+1 to that. People who dont report like "things are working fine with my XUV"
Like me, are to be blamed for all this negative hype. OK i agree that its not perfect, but then which car is? Every car has it own share of troubles initially, however what matters is that is that company ready to rectify that issues. Mahindra is and i hope they will continue to do so.

Even I agree with Nitin here. I have been driving it since 5th March & its been 4.5K kms till now with 2 trips to Himachal as well.

Car behaved like a gun, it was effortless in almost every area (be it torque, overtaking on high speeds, breaks or even a steep hike to Kali ka Tibba in Chail, or narrow stretch climb of Tani Jubbar Lake in Narkanda).

Clicked loads of pictures in my last trip. Will be uploading some soon.

Asking for a suggestion here:

I am thinking to get the stock tyres changed to something that can support a BIT of offroading (slush, wet surfaces, etc). Please be advised here that I don't do serious offroading but yes, am a regular to hills once in a month or so.

Can anyone suggest some brands/ models & their tentative prices ?
My current W6 Bridgestone has done around 4.2K kms, & what should be the buyback price that I should look for ?

Note Form Team-BHP Support-Team: Consecutive posts are strongly discouraged on the forum. Please use the EDIT function within 30 minutes, if the need to add anything extra arises. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 : Test Drive & Review

^^ You could try switching to Geolanders (not sure about the sizes available)

Also, do keep in mind that the TPMS may/may not function if the wheels or tyres are changed. It would be a good move to cross-check with your dealer as well as tyre-guru Nikhilb2008 in the Modification/Accessories section of the forum.

I would say you are being unfair to the dealership by giving negative points!
Appreciate your point of view.
The way I look at it - I have booked the vehicle with Kundan Motors (& not directly with M&M). It was Kundan Motors (and not M&M) who gave me the date on which I would get a call from M&M about the delivery date. So although I do understand that I am going through an additional layer which does not add any value to the transaction, I still keep on checking with Kundan Motors to bring some accountability in that layer. Also if I manage to create a image of 'a customer who is demanding and holds you up to the promises that you make', that is going to help me through the remaining bunch of interactions (till delivery) with Kundan motors.

Should Mahindra suspend the production of XUV till niggling issues are sorted out ? If I were heading the company i would rather concentrate on long term goodwill than short term profits and take time out to fully channelise resources to solve existing problems.
...
IMHO, it would be suicidal for M&M purely based on the amount of negative publicity that such a move would attract for the XUV.

There are bunch of them for whom CPD is been arrived (in past couple days), they may have already been informd or will get information soon. For rest of the bunch they are expecting to get the CPD in another day or two. I seem to be in latter category, that means my delivery date may not be close :( You get to speculate a lot when you're excited.
I'm sure this lot has got some niggles sorted based on what I read from FB page and recent owners group.

Called up M&M customer care today to know the status of my booking. They too are in dark. They said they will be getting info only in first week of may and asked me politely to call after a few days

Re: Mahindra XUV500 : Test Drive & Review

Been waiting for a call from M&M for over a week now! Apparently there was some mis-judgement around completion of deliveries for the initial lottery lot.

According to the service rep at Koncept Noida, the earlier lot deliveries are expected to be completed by 10-15th May, and only then THIS current process would begin.

So, I am expecting 12-16weeks delivery period for us less fortunate ones.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 : Test Drive & Review

Guys, just a quick update, my W8 has now done 10.5k, its due for its second service, but I am waiting on the new design brakes to be delivered at the workshop, so i can get both done together. So far it has been an absolute treat, even with a bucket load of niggles that came up. The reason that I am still a happy camper is that the service is exceptional and it is a hugely VFM product, which is still capable of turning heads.

Now, to the XUV owners in Delhi, have you received an SMS and call from M&M regarding a track day at Buddh? if yes, are the results of the draw out?

After three unfulfilled promises from the dealer, I finally escalated it to M&M's customer care. Surprisingly, they have forwarded my concern about not getting the delivery date to the Area Sales Manager in Pune. Isn't the sequencing logic and system managed by the corporate? How is the Area Sales Office going to help in arriving at the delivery date (Customer Promised Date)?
