Thanks for sharing. Don't you think this is a phenomenon only with photos (because of white-balance issues) and in real life, the color may not look so different in the sun?

Referring to more photos won't help. What I am saying is that, 2 white XUVs, one in sun and one in shade can be captured to show the exact same shade of white, if the photographer has set the white-balance setting correct while clicking each of the snaps.

What I meant by my post is, has anybody who has seen the white XUV "in person" (and NOT in photos) mentioned that it looks dramatically different in sun as against shade?

Human eyes are way more sophisticated than cameras.

Looks like Auto car is testing & comparing XUV 500 to Aria in the coming week. Am sure that's something which is worth taking a look at and some of us are eagerly waiting for, including me. Will post it once the video is available on net.

Trust your eyes guys and not the camera. You can spot the difference of shade in the headlight chromes of both cars. Also the alloys are showing different shades. I am sure camera is at fault here.

Hi Swiftnfurious: the Autocar November issue has a detailed take on XUV versus Aria and they also ratew Aria higher on many levels. In the end they do declare that XUV is more bang for the buck though. Have a look at the print issue at leisure.

Hi, I too have seen XUVs in sun and shade and fully endorse the view that it looks off white in sunlight but pure white in shade. Either ways, its quite a classy look. My personal drift goes to the off white colour as it looks quite gentle and different.

Now I have the same feeling about the Red XUV. The one shown on official site (and present in donwloads etc) looks pure red, whereas the one I saw on the road (during TD), looked more like brick-red (very similar to ANHC's habanero red).

They have already done that & the comparo can be found in their latest issue.

In short, winner is the XUV.

I fully agree there- I have seen red color on road and its brick red, not tomato red which looks crass, gaudy and cheap. This red is delightful in flesh! What's ANHC?

Re: Mahindra XUV500 : Test Drive & Review

I am keen to see a detailed XUV5OO vs Fortuner vs Endeavour comparo. This is a deal maker/breaker. Overdrive carried one on XUV vs Endeavor, but was not detailed enough.
