Since we are speaking of the warranty, when I recently visited the SC I was told that the warranty of the first lot of XUVs was extended. I bought my XUV in 2012 and when checking on their site, it says that the warranty expires in May, 2015.

How many years warranty does the car come with?
Yes it is 3 Year Warranty standard warranty, thats why recently Mahindra introduced extended warranty saying 4th & 5th year.

Anybody had similar experience recently as I thought XUV has been known for such electrical faults and those get replaced without any hassle/charges.
Mine is Mar'13 W8 and the Left side projector lamp got fused yesterday. Checked with India Garage, Chennai and they said that the Head Lamp bulbs are not covered under warranty.

They said few batches of 2012 had problems with fused headlamps which were replaced free of cost. That is history now.

The cost is Rs. 500+tax.

500+tax sounds very high for change of a bulb, that too it's a normal H7 bulb. What about the spare bulbs which we get along the vehicle.

I dont think they extended the warranty of First lot. They just came out with extended warranty for everyone who owns an XUV irrespective of the year they bought.

In Delhi price for H7 is Rs 262 only, so yes 500 is way too much.

Would be taking my XUV for 10 K servicing in a few days.
Actually, it's already 11200 kms.

When I tried to get it serviced at TVS motors kochi, they didn't have dates available due to the rush prior to Onam, Onam holidays and the rush after Onam.
Then I had to drive to Goa and the odo obviously jumped up.

I hope the service centre in Goa won't make any fuss about it.
My RM at kochi said that since there was no oil change involved, delayed servicing wouldn't be a problem.

Any pointers?
And what would be the estimated cost?

You can also try KTC Mahindra at Kochi if TVS is busy

Yeah. I could've done that.

But KTC is far off.
With the metro work and the terror of crossing Edappally junction, it seems like the other end of the world.

Plus, my RM is at TVS.
I am pretty happy with him. So, don't want to shift loyalty

Nothing much. Just the oil and filter change, plus in most case rattling fix.
Charge will be ~ 2200.

There is a "my Mahindra" app in Google play store which has a service cost calculator. It shows estimated service costs for all services and will also show your vehicle history. As per that 10k service cost is 917.

Just check if they do the alignment / balancing free of charge.
As mentioned by other BHPian, first service should be around rs. 2500

had my 20K service on 11th, sent the vehicle back to service center (Sireesh Marathahalli) 2 times after that as they coudlnt get the alignment right even after 2 attempts and finally on third attempt after changing the camber bolt, they have managed to get it right

Changed my brakepads (both front and back)at 20K service and they didnt botther to fit it properly resulting in squeaking noise over my weekend travel and had it sent to the SC 2 times first on Monday for removing the foreign particle causing the squeaking noise in the brakes and the correction for left pulling of the tyres. While removing the brake noise, the SC managed to make the brake pads so tight that driving became difficult and they just tightened a bolt instead of correcting the left pulling of the tyres. Sent again on tuesday, they changed the amber bolt, fixed the brake and alignment. Presently it is ok. Time to change the SC

For WB/WA try Madhu Enterprises, Langford road. I used to have a similar problem. They have a Road Force test equipment. you can find more reviews in the below link.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/bangal...bangalore.html

My cheetah came with JK tyres, once i swapped one of the tyre with spare one. From then i started experiencing a left drag. After seeing reviews i have been there for WA & WB, Road force test clearly identified that the spare tyre which i swapped with got problem, and because of that there is a drag. once it is moved back to its original position the issue is solved.

Looks like my vehicle is delivered with defective spare tyre

Guys,
Is the pick up and drop by the service centre chargeable?
I always thought that it was free and was part of the purple club deal.

Mukhtar motors at Goa is charging for it.

For XUV and Rexton owners, its free of charge.
I availed the same from India Garage, Chennai and was not charged. You are right - its part of the Purple club offer.
