I checked at 2000 rpm the needle is just below 100 kmph. Is this with my vehicle only?

My mistake. 2000rpm is indeed just shy of 100kmph. At 100kmph, the needle must be at about 2050 or 2100rpm.

BTW, were you in your beast on the Golf Course Extension Rd in the morning, at the traffic light near the Sector 56 - 57 area, going towards Sohna Rd side?

Tata Safari Storme : Official Review

Want quick help: Tata insurance is not giving benefit if my previous owned sold car, they are demanding NCB certificate from previous insurer. My insurer new india assurance offering me 40% discount on this new vehicle insurance. Checked with Tata SA and he said no issue as new india assurance is providing cashless facility.
I am saving 25k here.
Thoughts?

@Thar4x4, No. You can get insurance from anywhere. But do check:

1. Any offers from dealer for insurance.
2. How is the surveyor & relationship between your TASS & the local New India Assurance guys.

Dealer have no offer on insurance, my SA tried hard to get NCB but Tata insurance guys are not willing to.

New India assurance guy is quite sure to deal all sort of things, this guy is well known to me and I do all insurance related things from him, personal , LIC and auto insurances.

I am quite confused as don't want future hassles with TATA.

Re: Tata Safari Storme : Official Review

You can take insurance from anywhere. NO rule to prevent you from that. If you know the insurance guy, then hopefully he can help you in any unforeseen situations.
(But hope that's not required).

Remember, Insurance has nothing to do with technical part of the car. Wty / Extended Wty / AMC are all exclusive of veh insurance.

Ok so Storme EX ex showroom is 10.55 here, i got insurance quote from new india assurance is 25 k zero dipp after discount. Tata zero dipp insurance quote is 46 k. I think i will go with new india assurance.

Didn't quite got the last paragraph.

Re: Tata Safari Storme : Official Review

That is a gooood difference !

Just meant to say that Insurance has nothing to do with Wty. Hence no dealer can cause problems if you take insurance from another company.

Do you know that you can even insure your vehicle yourself ?

Thank god for clarifying. I got worried.

I was on the red light but not going towards Sohna Road but going towards delta motors. Let's meet once you are back from your trip.

Re: Tata Safari Storme : Official Review

Booking a Tata Safari Storme from Prerna motors and will start the process from April 19th onward targeting delivery for May 1st Week. The following are the price details with break-up i received today:

Safari Storme VX 4x2 OTR price: Rs. 15,70,000

Discounts:
Retail Discount - Rs. 20000
Old car exchange bonus - Rs. 25000
Tata company corporate discount (My wife is a tata employee) - Rs. 15000
My WagonR 2006 model single owner exchange value - Rs. 1,60,000

Total value of the car after applying all the above discounts: Rs. 13,50,000 - Not bad at all

Now the most important aspects that i wanted to bring to all member's attention: When i enquired and test drove in the month of February 2014 the OTR price was same i.e. Rs. 15,70,000. But that time Tata included Leather seats and Music system. Today the sales guy tells me TML is no more offering music system and leather seats even for the highest variant. Its only fabric seats in place of leather with the same price of Rs. 15,70,000 - This is really not fair

Also checked Safari storme official website today and in the features comparison they mentioned "Fabric" for LX and EX variant and "Fabric seats" for VX 4x2 and VX 4x4 variant? Whats the difference in Fabric and Fabric seats?

I was negotiating hard with Sales guy from Prerna motors today to at least include Leather seats and he says they really cant do anything about it since it is the decision by TML and not at the level of dealership - He is right in what he is saying but i am bit disappointed!
