If you plan to go for 195/60, then you can choose P3ST. If you choose to go with 205/55, then MC5 is a good option.

If comfort is major priority, then do not go for Yokohama S Drives. They are mainly performance oriented and are not silent. PS: I have not tried the S Drives myself. This is from the many other experiences I read in this forum and in the internet.
Thanks for the warm welcome !

Keeping in mind what you guys have suggested, I'm more inclined towards the Continental MC5's now since I do want to go for the 205/55 option. As I said, comfort, ride and grip are important.

I had installed Yokohoma S Drives on my previous car ( i10 ) and I could definitely say that ride was towards the harsher side. Performance wise it is good but it's not something you can use for your daily commutes I would say.

Among other things, in terms of paint treatment, what do you owners suggest I should get done immediately upon delivery ? I was thinking the 3M ceramic coat package ( whatever that's called ! ) would be beneficial. Thoughts ? ( Mods please move this particular query to any other thread if required )

I dont know about the Ceramic package. But I had got done the Paint Sealant from 3M for my Candy White Vento TSI. Supposed to protect against swirl and came with a 1 year warranty. Looked impressive for a few weeks, but after that swirl marks started appearing all over. The initial sheen was also gone.
Avoid this particular package.

Instead, if your car is dark coloured, go for the Paint Protection Film. It will cost around 12-15k and provide better protection against scratches, dirt and swirl marks.
It is like a transparent wrap which has tendency to turn yellowish with time, so not recommended for lighter colors, especially white.
You wont find any difference on darker colors, though.

Thanks

Oh alright. That's a bummer ! Did you visit 3M again and let them know of the issue ?

My Polo is Candy White in color. I'm assuming the PPF won't go best with the color.

Actually the paint is of a good quality and it is very durable. So there is no necessity to do any paint protection straight off the showroom.

Regular up keep and occasional detailing should do the job

3M paint protection film is quite expensive actually. I got a quote of Rs 18 to 20k just for front and rear bumper of Vento. Basic cost is Rs 500 per sqft. It comes in 2' wide roll, you will be charged on how much length of this roll is used. So you pay for wastage as well.

PPF for the entire car will be upwards of 75k to 1L. Just the bumpers and bonnet of my Endeavour cost me close to 60k along with door handles and stepping board. While the surfaces are larger for my car, I would think a safe estimate is still upwards of 75k for Polo.

Thanks, I knew this would come up. But I had my co-passenger (Photographer) take the picture, without getting in my way.
I generally even stop to sip water !!

Here's more. Candy White certainly looks stunning on a Sunny Day
You literally have to drag yourself out of the car after a drive

I've started noticing some rattles/squeaks coming from the dashboard area. I am pretty sure that's coming from behind the instrument cluster. Will be getting that checked over the weekend.

I'm undoubtedly a Polo fanboy (and not ashamed of it!) but I find it hard to think of a better-looking car. A friend was telling me of various new cars he'd taken a look at at dealers recently, and it struck me how little interest I actually take in them!

Now that I own a Vento I have been noticing and observing its sibling, the Polo, more closely. Driving in traffic I mostly see its third rear quarter. I like the neat minimalist design the most. It is smart and elegant, proportionate and smoothly curved surfaces; no quirky lines.

Congrats shoaib and welcome to the GT club buddy, truly 'SHE' looks beautiful

Polo was always a gorgeous hatchback and I am not putting it here coz I own one

With all the Constant/Consistent updates VW have been giving the Polo, the GT Twins actually look gorgeous, particularly the White Shade, which still remains my favourite colour.

Looking forward for you Buying & Ownership report.

Wish you a very happy motoring and drive safe.

Thank you ! The GT club is a special place to be in, truly !

Haha, that's why I look to this thread for advice and other things ! There's so much to learn from seasoned GT veterans such as yourself.

I shall look forward to posting a decent ownership report after I get some affairs at work in order; hopefully, in the month of January !
