I believe the system is made by Visteon. Infact, the system in the pre-face lifted version was also made by Visteon.

Here's the snap of the system in your car (taken from your blog):

Note "Made in Visteon Automotive Systems India".

I wonder how the Nippon name got attached to the system. Probably the initial lot was manufactured by them, but then Mahindra switched the vendor because of all the niggles in initial lot!

Dug into this further. It seems that Visteon manufactures this unit, however they have a tie-up with Nippon for product development. Gathered this from a news article published in halla.on.ca

Quote:
Mahindra recognizes Visteon as business partner of the year - First reported at halla.on.ca on 2012-06-13

Mahindra & Mahindra has recognized Visteon Automotive Systems India (VASI) as the business partner of the year for its outstanding contribution. The award was presented at the Mahindra supplier meeting in Prague, Czech Republic.

VASI also jointly won the Award of Excellence for Product Development, with Nippon Audiotronix Ltd., for developing the audio and infotainment for the XUV 500.
Details here.

Great review Tushar and SDP, deservedly rated 5 stars!
The XUV definitely looks more mature now and would polarize opinions a lot lesser than before. I, for one, quite like the new face.

The interiors seem to have seen the most changes and the new Infotainment systems looks fab from this review. And as you rightly pointed out, who doesnt like that sunroof eh?

Well the overall positive reviews do make we think more about when the automatic is expected. ..Any concrete news?

Re: 2015 Mahindra XUV500 Facelift : Official Review

I saw this luggage rack mounted on top of the facelifted XUV. I am not sure if this has been posted before. This rack is a synthetic one and filled with air, i saw that the max load it can hold is 80 kgs. IMHO, the design is not upto the mark as there is a strip/band of the rack that traverses across the breadth of the vehicle to anchor it.

This is a good idea. Easy to fix and remove. As long as its long lasting I find this a better option than a metal one which doesnt look that good.

Re: 2015 Mahindra XUV500 Facelift : Official Review

Folks, did a PDI today for my XUV W10 AWD. Everything's to my satisfaction, so have given my "go ahead" for the registration. Should get it in 3-4 days.

The only chink in its armour is that it's shrouded with Apollo Apterra. What's the verdict on these tyres? If its decent will stick with it.

Re: 2015 Mahindra XUV500 Facelift : Official Review

Hi folks,

First of all, Thank you Admins for letting me part of this elite group.

My purple cheetah came home few weeks back. In fact on 10th June. But my membership got approved just today only .

Ride Quality is pretty good and just ignored many potholes which I really felt in my Swift VXI.
Only issues I faced yet is the notchy gear lever and the kiss of turning steering rod when the clutch is fully pressed. Any way I'm getting used to those.

Even being one of the very few face-lifted versions on road, I didn't notice much faces turned. They are still starting at the pre-facelift ones.
However the world change by dusk. Thanks to S shaped parking lights.

Got my keys delivered

Bridgestone duellers are best according to many experienced users. Apterra is not too bad too. They are being used by many duster owners and are super happy with it. Unless you have plans to change the tyres to something like mich or so, don't bother changing it. Apterra is slightly harder compound. Will last for 40K or so easily. The only issue if at all you will find is road noise after 10K or so. Gripwise, i am not sure if you really are going to push things on corner etc but take your decision considering the fact that apterra is not too bad compare to duellers.

Congratulations Maneesh Happy munching miles with the cheetah.

Can you post some pics of the magnetic shades and the carpets? Also how is the quality of the magnetic shades provided by Mahindra?

IMO, Bridgestone would be the best bet. I am not sure how long the Apollo Apterra's will last, because one of my friend is using Apollo accelere's on his fabia and it is almost at the end of its life at 33000KMS, also it is prone to more road noise compared to Bridgestone.

In case if you have an option to change them to Bridgestone I would suggest you to go ahead or if money is not an issue, probably you can change them to Michelin's which is super silent.
