Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Batteries in both Fobs replaced. Nexa charged me 100/- INR each fob. I did not bargain.

Nexa guys were asking me if I wish to subscribe for Suzuki Connect. I told them that I will think about it. I am not sure if its worth the subscription fee, except the GPS tracking part.

Has anyone opted for it already?

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Rajat sent me a message earlier this week. Glow plug replaced under warranty - 1 out of the 4 glow plugs was faulty, MASS did not have any explanation as to why the part failed:
Quote:
My S Cross has just given a warning light as shown in the photo attached. It’s related to the glow plug I believe. Have you or anyone you know (in other forums like team-bhp) faced this kind of issue?

This is the 2nd mechanical issue my car has faced after the wiring harness issue and all of this is coming after I got the EGR valve cleaned at 30k service (as per manual, though I didn’t want to get this done, the SA insisted).

BHPian sunejarahul is the latest victim of the Thermostat issue, he took his car to MASS today for a general checkup as he was about to leave on a road trip. Part replaced under warranty, car is back with him.

Hello Guys

What about Suzuki Connect? Should we go for it? If anyone can give a detailed review of the product?

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Of late, I am beginning to believe my 2 years old Scross suspension has become stiff, or it was like that since beginning and it came out only when I started taking bad roads. The chassis feels shaken up when going over potholes.

My 5 year old figo comparatively feels much better on same roads. Anyone else has noticed it or is it just my perception?

I have had the same observation. Small potholes are fine. It's the big ones that seem to shake up the cabin and sometimes the car tends to lose line as well.
I think that's part and parcel of a stiff suspension setup

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

A two week long holiday back at Kolkata meant one thing, road trips. Last weekend was the Team BHP Kolkata Monsoon Meet, and this weekend, did a short weekend trip to Jhargram this weekend with the S-Cross.

Rainy weather, peaceful jungles and muddy roads combined with my beast equaled a memorable small outing. The S-Cross handled muddy off-road situations, as well as smooth tarmac like it was nobody's business.

The total distance covered was around 450km, and the car returned a mileage of 14.9 km/l (spirited driving gives you that).

Ended the journey by returning the car for its 2nd service. The car has run 5400km in just over 3 months.

Some sticky off-road scenes

Really sticky

Ghagra Waterfall - Non Existent roads saw two cars stuck and struggling in the mud, while the S-Cross handled it with little to no fuss.

Dont know if this is relevant, my 60k run Swift Diesel too faced a Glow plug Failure, replaced all four of them.

On a general note, it seems the cranking time has increased in my car, especially during morning starts (Ambient temperature- 23 to 25 deg C). Looks like the battery is nearing the end of its life?
Off late I have also observed the rear suspension acting very hard, especially when two people sit behind.

I second that. Similar observations in my 2 year old S-Cross too. The car feels more bouncy now. Maruti service guys said everything is Normal. But, I feel that the suspension action has reduced.

A sublime picture of my S-Cross in the Jhargram forests.

Heading out for a 2500km circuit tomorrow.

Car has been serviced just a few days before, and probably will need its 3rd service by the time we return. The service advisor will surely be surprised at the pace our car is gaining kilometers.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Scross doing very well in sales !. July numbers @ 5308.

This is good numbers considering that scross doesn't have an automatic or petrol variant. Also there have been quite a few people who have preferred Scross over Brezza which comes with 'SUV' looks and maruti peace of mind.

This proves that crossover looks by itself is not a problem. The car needs to be well packaged and well priced for it to be a success.

Exactly my thoughts. Its priced well for the package, especially the Zeta variant

BTW, mine is clocking 15K already, 3 more months for its 1st birthday

The zeta is real value for money. They need to get that 1.5 L petrol engine in the S-cross with an automatic. Suzuki could double their sales on the S-cross with a gasoline version

5.3K with just one diesel engine option is an excellent number. If S-Cross comes with Petrol / Auto box also, it can pose a good challenge to the Creta rule.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Has anybody installed non-flush roof rails on their S-Cross?

I am looking at using a Rooftop Car Carrier Bag (link to the product).

But since the roof rails are flush, there is no way to mount them on the S-Cross.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

I drive a 1.3 from March 2016.
I'm also getting "Key Fob battery low" message for one of my key fobs.
Went to get front brakes and a fog lamp unit replacement yesterday @ sai service hinjewadi but they didn't have fob battery in stock.
I also have a close to dead battery that I will be replacing - I wanted one confirmation from folks here - the car's manual says battery is DIN55L the actual physical battery says it is DIN50MLF - is this the same?
