Thanks to my friend Chandramouli for sharing this. This is about S-Cross 1.6 Special Edition .

He has converted his S-Cross 1.6 to new Face Lift type and also got Europe Red paint job done. The car is also tuned by Wolf Moto and did 165 HP / 425 NM on Dyno today.

Thanks for sharing Naren. The paint job looks fabulous.

I guess I saw this car sometime last week on Mount Poonamallee Road, Chennai.

The color on the car looks fantastic!! To have the color changed, is it necessary to get the RC endorsed? Or do we just take the risk and see what happens when it happens?

We can get the color changed on RC. We just have to fill in a form . The owner of this Red S-Cross is also getting the colour changed on RC.

Got the car back after 2.5 weeks. Extremely satisfied with the work done. Got the rear brake pads changed to Dixcel from stocks, thanks to Dr.Naren for the recommendation.

Went to Tirthan Valley last week covering 1150 kms, got an FE of 18.9 kmpl. During the start of the trip, near Ropar, I was not able to slot 4th gear. The problem continued for a few more kms, on return the same thing happened with 2nd gear. Somehow managed to get the car home. I am suspecting it to be the gear synchronizer rings which is a known issue with 90hp DDis . Odometer is at 94,229 kms.

I'm facing similar issues. It's actually difficulty in getting the gear into neutral from 1st and 2nd gear. 60K odo 1.3 Zeta.

Welcome to the club! This is most likely Gear Synchronizer issue. It happened to me on my Ertiga at 97K kms IIRC. I haven't faced it again after driving another 65K kms. I also heard the replacement rings have a design change due to which issue doesn't crop up again though not sure how far is this true.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

No doubt, the 1.6 engine is pure nirvana. Its just so addictive that you want to take the long route to your destinations. Apart from just the engine and the bonkers turbo kick, the car feels safe and planted to the roads and the majority of the time, feels solid and like a one piece construction.

However, though not always, the rear suspension tends to be a bit tricky. Now, many owners have reported different experiences. Experiences include, bouncy ride, vertical movement, rear stepping out of line after 30,000 km, for some the issue from early as 6000 km, many cant identify any issue and hence have no problem.

There has also been certain cases, where Maruti has changed the rear shock absorber and springs, under warranty, after customers have repeatedly pointed out the error.

If there is anyone in here who have any concern with this rear suspension error, kindly mention in the below tread, this will help identify or help us track the root of the problem.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Hi all
Taking this chance to post a few pics of my daily ride upon completion of one year. Apart from what can be seen, I ‘ve got a basic tuning done at Pete’s. The jump in power is supposed to be between 110 – 115 bhp (though not dyno verified). One can find a definite surge in power and pick up between 2000 to 3000 rpm but becomes flat thereon. I ‘ve done about 25000 km and have nothing to complain about. Ride and handling is top notch though engine is a tad bit on the louder side. Material quality is really good for the segment with very few niggles and rattles so far.

One place where I felt lagging was that it felt terribly under-powered during my recent trip from Mysore to Ooty. With 4 on board and luggage, she really struggled up the hill. You have to use the first gear up any kind of slope. Really does deserve a much better engine to match the chassis.

On flats, she rides pretty well. Vehicle feels heavy and safe. I drive about 70 km a day (mix of highway and Chennai traffic) and she returns about 17 km/l. The fact that it’s a rare sight, ads to the novelty and the front end does stand out in a parking lot. Rear is very plain jane and looks more like a hatchback. Ground clearance is just about ok for a pseudo SUV and I have not managed to scrape the bottom yet.

Overall, pretty happy with the car so far. Service expenditure is on par with my GT-TSi. I really dont believe Maruti is that cheap to service as it is claimed, but then as far as things are ok, I'm not complaining.

Attaching a few recent pics....

Cheers

That's the main problem with 1.3MJD. Turbo lag n more pronounced on hills.

But things should have been better for you after the Pete's remap. You can ask your tuner to provide a map with better lower end.

Really? Do you mean from standstill on any kind of slope?

I have done more than 15K kms in the hills of Himachal Pradesh and I find your statement a bit exaggerated.
