This is confusing me as I really liked the dual tone interior of Limited but I am not a huge fan of sunroof and 6 airbags are not needed as it is mostly my wife and I who would be doing the driving. Should I go ahead with Limited for the sake of future? Is difference of 2.3 lac worth it?

Please let the dealer know that you will get insurance from outside - he will match your quote. That way the OTR will come down to 22.35.

I have the Limited and I had a similar confusion. Honestly, I would have regretted if I did not get the Limited variant. If budget is not an issue go for it. Airbags are never enough - the more the better. Also, you get the leather seats and bunch of other features that you cannot retrofit.

You are right. I am also in love with those leather seats and alloys. Budget is an issue but could be stretched too that's why I am confused. Thanks for your advice, it will help a lot.

Well, you really do not realise you have a sunroof till you open it. So think it's not there. 6 airbags are very much needed for your family's safety. I suggest you don't think much over it and get the Limited, as interiors are the most important thing (from the driver's perspective)

Well suggest go for Limited for 6 airbags atleast. In 2016 I bought Octavia TDI Ambition (only 2 airbags) as top end only had auto gear box and I wanted manual.
While I was super happy with the car, due to this 2 airbags I thought of replacing it couple of years back but did not find a worthy replacement. Now with few mods I still cannot find a replacement and made peace with 2 airbags.
But if I have to make a decision all over again, I would have gone for top end DSG and given up manual gearbox for 6 airbags.
So it would be better to spend that extra money now and buy Limited, than feel sorry later.

This statement holds only when considering frontal impact.

In case of a side impact, having the additional side airbags (which is for the front passengers only) and the full length curtain (which covers front windows too) will be of great benefit to both of you.

You are right. I was not thinking of such an instance. Considering the driving skills we Indians have, I should go for 6 airbags.

Has anyone bought engine oil outside and given to the service center and changed while doing service? I asked this in KHT Prime service center, Bangalore and was told this will void warranty even if I give the same grade 0w20 oil as mentioned in user manual. How true is this?

I agree with everyone here. Apart from the safety aspect, the Limited's cabin feels like such a nice place to be in. The leather touch points (steering, seats) just take the experience a notch higher. Another very useful feature is the electric tail gate. You dont realise how useful the feature is until you have it.

I think this is true at all Service station, they will not accept Oil you bringin, that is where they make their money

5000 Km Service Update:

Got my Jeep D-MT (Limited) checked at the Okhla Service Centre (Noida workshop isn't operational yet). As per their check up - everything was in line and no software updates were to be carried out. They just topped up the Ad-Blue (which was at about 45-50%). Got the paint fade (pointed out in post #3224) checked - they said they're ready to re-paint it - but suggested against it and assured that if it becomes more prominent - they would do it at a later stage. The car was given a good water jet spray, shampoo, vacuum cleaning and polishing (on the plastic bits). Thankfully they allowed me to roam around the service centre and be around my car while they did all the check ups and cleaning.

The over all bill was zero.

That apart, the service centre itself was very underwhelming (coming from a VW Service Centre experience in Noida). The approachability to the Service Centre is poor and space was quite crunched for the number of cars dependant on the location for their service. Attaching a few pictures.

The minimum rim size that can be fitted on the JC is 16inch. The PCD 5x110 which makes it very difficult to find good 16 inch wheels.

15 inch wheels do not fit as the brake assembly is too big and does not allow fitting the 15 inch wheel.

The best option is to buy either 16 inch Steel or Alloys Rims from Jeep India and put the 225/70 R16 Yokohama G92C tyres.

If you want to go with 16 Inch Steel wheels then send me a PM as I know someone in Hyderabad who wants to sell his original Jeep Steel wheels.

Yokohama G92C tyres are available on tyremarket.com for about 10k.

This combination of 16 inch wheels with 225/70 R16 gives 6.2 inches of sidewall that is more than enough for off-roading and still remains within acceptable margins of upsizing tyres.
