Incidentally, I had gone for my 30k service today and there was another update for the PCM. I have driven only 100 or so km post that but the throttle response seem to have improved noticeably. I had fun accelerating hard on my drive back.
Could you please post a picture of the job card showing the PCM update as you did in your earlier post. I want to check if I got the same update in my last service or do I need the latest one

Do you feel any difference in the drive and acceleration as per Deltasierra? I want to check this with my service advisor as well.

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

So I saw this today morning. Not sure how I have missed this before but the car was parked under the sun and it was very well visible. The A Pillar cladding on the inside has started to come off. There was another Jeep parked beside mine (previous gen model) - it did not have this issue.

Has anyone else faced this issue?

Mine is Diesel. Petrol comes with DDCT transmission.

The A pillar cover is attached with clips. You can press it in place, just make sure that the clips are aligned. Don't use too much force, as the clips can break since they are plastic.

It should not have come off on its own. Maybe they weren't fixed properly.

Interesting...
I thought the concern was only with the Petrol engine and its transmission, I do remember being told the Diesel was the way to go in a Compass but it seems Diesel too had issues with optimal operation then.

That’s the diesel manual which is brilliant. But the diesel auto is no slouch either. There is some hesitancy but you get the hang of it once you drive it for a few kms.

Was asked last week to bring my car for update. Mine is the diesel manual 2021 model. And this was what was listed. Did not pay anything. Update took a couple of hours.

The semiconductor shortage is also their lucky charm as they negotiate early delivery as compared to years of others.
Longitude petrol AT seems to have 60k discount and with insurance discount it would total a lakh. While booking , can we specify that we want a 2022 manufactured model only or is it something that is not in our control? It will help if any owner can clarify.

Yes you can ask for the 2022 lot. The dealer gets the VIN number from the factory itself before the car is dispatched. I suggest you do the PDI at the stockyard also once before taking the delivery, the keep showroom in Pune didn’t have any issues with me visiting their stockyard

Hi Vinit
1) I'd say it's slightly cramped. With a 6' driver in front, space is slightly less for rear passenger. The middle passenger on rear sit will be cramped.

2) I used to drive an Octavia before my Compass. Coming from the DSG world, the gearbox of Compass is a letdown. It is jerky and hunting for gears up until the 5th. That being said this engine-gearbox combo is tuned for sedate city driving. You will have to train yourself to keep it in the sweet spot of 1500-2000 rpm where it does most of its work.

3) The suspension is pretty good for most surfaces but the body roll gets too much on bumpy surfaces.

Hope this helps

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

I booked one late Dec 2021 and requested a 2022 model. The sales folks warned me of a possible price hike and all the good stuff associated with it. Decided to wait for the 2022 model. Got a Longitude O Petrol AT in Feb first week.
Discounts: Yes, as folks mentioned the "discount" they offer and the insurance negotiation will bring the final number down a bit. On discounts what I understand is, towards the end of the year the discount can be as much as 1.5L (since they want to finish old inventory) Come New Year and, oops - you get 60k. So that was a lesson learned, but I got a 2022 product.

Well they are there for business. Nothing to complain. And totally happy with the purchase and experience. [MPS Motors Pvt Ltd (PPS JEEP) - BLR]

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

The 2022 Compass in the US is getting different Tail Lamps. The overall shape is the same but the LED highlights are different (and better looking).

Why didn't the 2021 Facelift in India get this?

They do look nice. Are there any other changes or additions they got that we didn't?

Question for anyone who can answer, Is there a reason Jeep couples 4x4 only with the Diesel engine and not the Petrol?. Is it anything to do with 4x4 working better with Diesel engines?

I think it is the Trailhawk version. You can see the Trailhawk logo on the silver coloured Jeep pic you shared.
